Default Can slipcovers be shipped Media Mail?

Just curious, I'm selling some larger lots of slipcovers, and wondering if they can be shipped Media Mail? Thanks everyone.

Yes But more than likely cheaper to ship first class

Whatever you do just make sure it has a tracking number, just for your own peace of mind.

For a large lot??? Nah, I'm talking 30-50 slips, you can't ship items that heavy first class.

Yah, media mail has a tracking number, fairly certain, everything does with USPS. Thanks though.

I didn't think they qualified since they didn't have the actual disc with them:

Quote:
Media Mail® service has special eligibility requirements for permissible contents. Media Mail rates are limited to the items listed below:

Books (at least 8 pages).
Sound recordings and video recordings, such as CDs and DVDs.
Playscripts and manuscripts for books, periodicals, and music.
Printed music.
Computer-readable media containing prerecorded information and guides or scripts prepared solely for use with such media.
Sixteen millimeter or narrower width films.
Printed objective test materials and their accessories.
Printed educational reference charts.
Loose-leaf pages and their binders consisting of medical information for distribution to doctors, hospitals, medical schools, and medical students.
I've never gotten a domestic package that was opened (international is another matter), but they technically have a right to check media mail packages so ship at your own risk.

Just think of them as very, very short books.

I sent a box of over 60 movies via media mail. USPS opened the box, didn't reseal it properly, all the movies spilled out then they sent me the top of the box with a letter saying: "Sorry but we lost all the stuff in your box. You may be entitled to the 5 dollar postage refund. Maybe."

Did you insure it? Not being snarky, just getting information. I insure anything of substance when I use Media Mail, as they will certainly try to screw you, given the opportunity.

They don't qualify. I tried it once. Even though there were Blu-rays in the package, it was mainly slips, and it got opened up by an employee and returned to me.

Slipcovers are definitely not media. Good luck!

I've talked to my postal employees and that has to be incorrect. They did you wrong.

Not every employee is up to speed. I remember once I was sending blu rays and the employee (she must've been new) said "Only books qualify for media mail." One of the regular employees quickly corrected her.

Unfortunately I did not. I was sending them to myself and had never had problems like that prior. For some reason insurance has only crossed my mind if I'm sending packages as a seller.

Slipcovers are not media. You can only send books, videotapes, DVDs, CDs, printed music and other sound recordings. Even video games are not allowed.

(S)He says he sent a blu with the slips. That should be permissible.

Whatever the case of our arguing, it's a crap shoot and up to the postal workers. I'm just going off of my local PO.

The OP? Nah, he was asking about slips. And I quoted the USPS policy directly.

That's because you're always trying to take advantage. Photos are not considered media. It's only YMMV because they have not opened your packages. But you are using the service inappropriately.

Your right. Well when I first discovered Media Mail years ago they told me photos were media so.... But just looked it up for the first time and they're not.
