Atlus has announced the next mainline SMT game, coming to the Nintendo Switch. The game was first teased in January, but has now been officially confirmed to be SMTV.

The game currently has no release date.

Atlus, the company that hates social media. They’ve disabled the Share button on the PS4 for Persona 5, as well as threaten to file claim and take down any YouTube video that showed any footage past for first few stages of the game.

At the time I could see their reasoning since there was a delay between the Japanese and western releases and it was a good way to avoid spoilers but at this point there's no reason to continue to block it.

As for this, I hope there's not a big delay with the western release and I'm glad to hear it confirmed as part 5.

It’s so annoying because there were plenty of things I wanted to screenshot and to this day it’s still blocked. I have to get out my phone and take a picture of the TV screen if I want to do that.

Will buy a Switch by the time this comes out. Hopefully by then there will be more than 3 games I want to play and some kind of LE console that interests me.

Still waiting for news on this one. I'm down for anything SMT, so I can't wait for this! Seems pretty obvious it'll be 2019 right now, and I can't wait!

In an interview with Famitsu, SMT series producer Kazuyuki Yamai gave a brief update on SMTV'S development. He stated that most of the demons and other characters have been finished and are up and running, and that they're trying to finish development without compromising on content. He also said that Atlus is considering a remake/port of SMT3.

Anyone who wants a Premium Edition, I highly recommend going into your local EB Games/GameStop and asking. I was able to get on the pre-order list simply by inquiring about it yesterday.

$120?! I would have to trade in some of those Switch games neither myself nor my sister's kids ever play and are just rotting away in my games case.

Excited to pick this up tomorrow. I've been waiting for this one since it was announced at the Switch reveal event from January 2017. We've long since gotten all the games from that show but this one.
