In the summer of 1967, rioting and civil unrest starts to tear apart the city of Detroit. Two days later, a report of gunshots prompts the Detroit Police Department, the Michigan State Police and the Michigan Army National Guard to search and seize an annex of the nearby Algiers Motel. Several policemen start to flout procedure by forcefully and viciously interrogating guests to get a confession. By the end of the night, three unarmed men are gunned down while several others are brutally beaten.

Great movie but I wonder who is releasing it. This was Annapurna the distributor but not sure who will handle the home video release. Universal perhaps?

Meant to catch this in theaters but I just couldn't find the time. This will be a blind-buy for me as a I love Kathryn Bigelow's work.

BD.com says Fox but I'm not sure how accurate that is... I thought Annapurna got Sony releases?

They're independent. They've worked with all the major studios on various films.

It's a great film, but a very hard watch. Can't imagine watching it very often.

If this doesnt fly under the Academy’s radar that Eyebrow kid from Maze Runner would be nominated for Best Supporting Actor. He was really great.

"Eyebrow Kid" would've made such a great Pennywise. I loved Skarsgard in the role, but man I wish at least a screentest would leak.

Annapurna made a deal with Fox to distribute their releases on home video.

I think 'everyone' missed this in the theater as it fizzled and burned at the box office despite getting rave critical praise ... will see it when it comes out on bluray
