Where can I find them at the cheapest price in Toronto area?
Also for renting, Blockbuster only has a few blus available for rent...some are only available to buy. Does Rogers carry a greater quantity of blus? |

Right now, Blockbuster has PPV Blu-rays at 2 for $30.00.
HMV has 2 for $50.00 for certain titles. Most of them are older ones. I picked up Day Watch and The Sand Pebbles at this price. Good to pick up non mainstream movies there for this deal. |

I've purchased a few from amazon.ca at pretty good prices. HMV is still too pricey, but Best Buy & Future Shop have good deals sometimes. Wal-Marts here in Wpg have a pretty bad setup for their Blus. All behind glass case with half of the good titles hidden in behind of others... ya thats how you're gonna sell 'em Wally! Only purchased 1 title there.

PPV are used blus at Blockbuster.
HMV has some titles at 2 for $30 and 2 $40 as well as 2 for $50. Futureshop has some 2 of $30 titles as well as a few at $12.99 like Sin City and From Dusk till Dawn. I have also found some new blus at Cash Converters for $15. |

My local Blockbuster sells one BD per month for $9.99 (new, not previously viewed). This month, it's The Golden Compass. Last month is was Pan's Labyrinth. They do have a rather nice selection of PV BDs for $19.99(and $17.99 for older ones). Wal-mart still has the best prices though their selection is not that great. Futureshop has the best selection.

I work at a Future Shop. In the summer, there were two 4-foot sections of Blu-rays when we did our Entertainment reset.
As of today, we have five 4-foots of Blu-rays. I go into any other store, including our newly opened Best Buy, and no one compares to selection right now. |

SIG Electronics.
You can find any movie for $22.50 or less. TDK is $22.50, as well as Wall-E, Kung Fu Panda, and other amazing titles. They do take about 1 week after the street date to arrive on the website but $22.50 vs. $29.99 is a week worth for me. They also have stores around the GTA. I say columbia house....I picked up 8 BLU for $127....and they were all new releases...the dark knight, wanted, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Kung Fu Panda, and others...you have to wait when they have the 60% or 70% and free shipping...it's totally worth it...the only thing that sucks about columbia is that they don't care Disney pics and some other special editions....but who cares $11 for a BLU--sign me up....

I did the Columbia House Canada thing with DVD & actually you don't save money due to their overpriced new releases or catalogs. It seems like a good deal to buy a few & get one 50% off however that 50% is usually added back to your order for shipping. LOL
Wallyworld or London Drugs is the best bet in store. You may also break street dates as well as find BDs out of print. Still, Amazon.com (Even with our crappy dollar) is the best route to go. I need to stop buying on release days though. Sales are always on going for titles I already have. ![]() |
