Filming is scheduled to begin in 2009.

DNA Films (of Sunshine and 28 Weeks Later) has greenlit another Judge Dredd project. Apparently the film will be something of a reimagining, going all the way back to the 2000 AD comics that Sylvester Stallone's 1995 film was based on as well. The news comes from the official 2000 AD forums, where Jason Kingsley left this message for fans: "We can't give away too many details at this point, but we're looking forward to working with DNA Films to bring Judge Dredd back to the big screen."

Judge Dredd is a law enforcement officer in a violent city of the future where uniformed judges combine the powers of police, judge, jury and executioner. Dredd and his fellow judges are empowered to arrest, sentence and even execute criminals on the spot.

The 1995 Judge Dredd wasn't all that great. Lets hope this Dredd remake/reboot is imaginative

As a Sylvester Stallone action movie it was good. As a Judge Dredd film, not so much.

This movie was horrible but watchable for me, I could always get into watching it but I new it was a dumb movie.

LOL Hey i like Demolitioin Man, it's cheesy to the top! but it's good cheese.. Don't underestimate the power of President Arnold Schwarzenegger!!!!!!!

In Demolition Man, all the restaurants were called Taco Bell. This got the biggest laughs in the movie. This is pure comedy gold. *SIGH* I miss the nineties.

This wouldn't be the same without Stallone, would anyone want Will Smith to hog all the roles.

I never read the Judge Dredd comics, but I did like the movie. It could have done without Rob Schneider, but it was a decent action flick.

Well, Danny Boyle's DNA films & JUDGE DREDD seems like a perfect match to me!

Looking forward to it. Sly would be to old to play Dredd right? As much as I love Sly's movies, does he have a chance to play Dredd?
