Spiderman Homecoming sure didn't that shit dropped faster than Rhonda Rousey. Wonder Woman had the strongest legs out of any superhero film to date, she is returning in this film and JL will cross 1 billion worldwide or come very very close. You Marvel guys need to just face reality with this film.

I cant believe how stupid Warner Bros is for releasing Justice League between Thor and Star Wars Last Jedi. They could have taken over the entire month of August/September if they released it at that time when there were no Blockbusters scheduled. Thor and Star Wars will impact the box office for Justice League regardless of what others say. I want it to do well but having to compete with Thor is going to hurt it alot. Especially since the tracking is barely above the solo Wonder Woman movie and not even expected to beat Twilight on opening weekend. Justice League was supposed to compete with Avengers since this is the first time the Justice League has ever been a movie. If this movie has a bad rotten tomatoes score it wont have the legs after a month when Star Wars comes out and destroys the box office. This shouldnt have a problem reaching a billion worldwide but im hoping at the very least it can beat the $400+ domestic from Wonder Woman. If this has great reviews i can see 1.2 billion, otherwise it might be around 1 billion with bad reviews. I think Star Wars stops Justice League from doing 1.2+ billion.

Studios get a bigger cut in the US compared to foreign countries.
They get about 50%-55% of the domestic box office compared to 40% in foreign markets and 25% in China. |

There's a lot more ticket fraud overseas as well, especially in China, where people will buy a ticket to a Hollywood film but get a ticket to a Chinese film so the Chinese film seems like it made more money. This leads to Chinese theaters under reporting how much a movie made and paying the studio less than they're due.

15%? I routinely read box-office reports from Deadline, Variety, THR and The Hot Blog and that number has never popped up anywhere. Source? A little back-up for your extraordinary claims would go a long way.
As I said, well over 70% of the theatrical grosses of mega-budgeted movies from franchises like Pirates of the Caribbean, James Bond and Fast & Furious, just to name a few, come from overseas. Their domestic earnings would never make them profitable enough for future sequels. |
