Default Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold - 1/9/18

DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation's new original movie Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold will be released on DVD and digital on January 9, 2018.

In the film, Batman joins forces with Scooby-Doo and his pals Shaggy, Fred, Daphne, and Velma after villains from both of their worlds unite to wreak havoc on the city. For a sneak peek at Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold, check out the debut trailer in the player above.

In addition to classic DC villains like Joker, Catwoman, Riddler, Penguin, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, the movie will also feature several friendly faces, including the likes of Aquaman, Plastic Man, The Question and Martian Manhunter. The crew will also have to contend with Scooby-Doo troublemakers like Ghost Clown, Spooky Space Kook, Gentleman Ghost, and Miner 49er.

The main voice cast includes Diedrich Bader as Batman, Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo and Fred, Grey Griffin as Daphne and Black Canary, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, and Kate Micucci as Velma. The guest cast is comprised of Jeff Bennett as Joker, Jeffrey Combs as The Question, John DiMaggio as Aquaman, Nika Futterman as Catwoman, Nicholas Guest as Martian Manhunter, John Michael Higgins as The Riddler, Tom Kenny as Penguin and Plastic Man, Kevin Michael Richardson as Detective Chimp, Tara Strong as
Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, and Fred Tatasciore as Harvey Bullock.

Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold is directed by Jake Castorena. Paul Giacoppo wrote the teleplay, which is based on a story by supervising producer James Tucker. Michael Jelenic is producer on the film, with Sam Register, Benjamin Melniker, and Michael Uslan serving as executive producers.

This isn't the first time Scooby-Doo and the Caped Crusader have joined forces. Back in 1972, Batman and Robin appeared in two hour-long TV movies: The Dynamic Scooby-Doo Affair and The Caped Crusader Caper.

Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold isn't the only new upcoming animated feature about the iconic DC superhero. Warner Bros. Japan's anime movie Batman Ninja will be released on Blu-ray and DVD in 2018, and an animated retelling of Gotham by Gaslight will also be released next year.

Why did they need to a Aquaman and other DC hero’s in a Batman & Scooby Doo show? It ruins the whole thing.

The last Batman: Unlimited movie was DVD only, so it wouldn't surprise me if Warner skips a Blu release for this one too.

Would prefer a Blu-Ray release for this, but since the last non DCUA Batman was DVD only, as was the last Scooby... I don't think it's gonna get one. However I will be getting the DVD if that's all that's available.

Based on the description, this crossover movie is specifically with the Batman: The Brave and the Bold show so I went looking for the B:BatB opening. Fortunately, I found a trailer for this Scooby-Doo movie which shows that it is the B:BatB show, hence Aquaman and the other heroes.

B:BatB is actually a good match-up tone-wise with classic Scooby-Doo; it's too bad there was never a true Scooby-Doo & Super Friends crossover as part of The New Scooby-Doo Movies.

Is this a new movie? Not a TV special or anything? Interesting to see as I thought Batman: The Brave and the Bold wasn't that popular.

I love how Matthew Lillard is still Shaggy all these years after the live action movies. He's filling Casey Kasem's shoes very nicely.

After Mask of the Phantasm’s Blu-ray release, I think it is quite possible to get a Warner Archive release of zombie Island! And of course it is quite disappointing that this new film won’t reveive a Blu-ray treatment, but it honestly isn’t surprising. Hopefully they’ll do a big 20th anniversary Blu-ray release of the DTVs next year, like they did for the 10th anniversary of DC Animated Movies.

Random question...has anyone compared the PQ/AQ of the bonus episodes on this release to the below dvd? Wondering if I can retire that old Scooby Doo Meets Batman dvd.

I was really disappointed that this movie didn't get a Blu-Ray release, considering all of the other recent straight to video Scooby-Doo movies that have (most of which I have no interest in). I still picked this up anyway, but a Blu-Ray would have been nice.

I enjoyed this. My daughter who is on a huge Scooby kick lately and I watched it last night. I love that she enjoys older cartoon characters. The Boomerang subscription app has been a god send. We watch mainly Scooby, Yogi and The Flintstones.

It's been hit-and-miss. Leaving aside the LEGO versions, the previous "normal" Scooby entry, Shaggy's Showdown was also DVD only.

Is the New Scooby Doo Movies episode included with the original opening and closing?
