Default Could this be a sign of the end!

I listen to the HDTV Podcast and on todays show they received an e-mail from someone who live by the Wal-Mart headquarters. He has been noticing that the Mal-Mart stores in that area have been pulling all of their HD DVD movies and hardware and replacing them with Blu-Ray products. If this is a test they are trying and it goes well HD DVD will be gone by the end of the year.

Wal-Mart's power knows no boundaries... that one move would be the deciding factor. Plus, what better way to get BD into the average person's home... Wal-Mart = J6P

That is good news! Anytime there's reduction in the selection of a given product line, it usually marks the beginning of the end.

Default Blockbuster

Two branches of Blockbuster where I regularly rent out movies have started stocking a range of rental Blu-Rays. Not one HD to be seen. Looks like they have well and truly got behind the BD.

That is due to the announcement they made last month that they would be expanding support of blu-ray to their next top 1450 stores. They initially had a six-month test period in their top 250 stores where they would rent both formats. In the end of that period, BD had been rented more often than HD DVD by a margin of 70/30. They still offer HD DVD in those 250 stores and online, but now their website has a section devoted to blu-ray titles.

LMAO!

Yes, low credibility. But, I believe thats the way Wally World is headed anyways, like each store. Even the BB near me has been eliminating HD DVD one shelf at a time.

I got an email from a guy that knew someone who was married to the best friend of a cousin of a guy that lives on the same street as Microsoft that says they are going to go blu and refund everyone's money who ever bought HD-DVD and Windows. :P
It would be nice if it happens, but we'll see.

(NOTE.. no i didn't)

My Wal Mart has a four sided display in front of the electronics section, two sides each for BD and HD DVD. A good amount of the BD are asold out though, compared to HD that has plenty. The Best Buy's around me also seem to treat both formats pretty equally. Hopefully this news is true, as Wal Mart could be a truly influential force in the format war.

Was it "Gary78241"?

No just kidding. Welcome to forum. Not tyring to make fun of your post. As others have indicated, there's lots of unsubstantiated info going around. But try to get the guy on the phone. Maybe we can get a Blu-ray.com exclusive!

I just went into a Blockbuster a few days ago and they had a large selection of Blu Ray and HD DVD I was surprised at the amount of titles they had in Blu and HD DVD. I was thinking why do they have HD DVD isn't Blockbuster exclusivly Blu Ray now, then it dawned on me those were HD DVD's from before the announcment.
