Hope BBC releases 'Enchanted Kingdom' as well (and that's got a Dolby Atmos mix to boot!)

Is this actually new or is it basically Earth 2 aka Planet Earth 2 cut down to a theatrical length?

Edit !!!

The reported Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos seems to be for the theater release. My mistake.

That's just great. Atmos and DV for their doc shorts, but not the main TV series set.

Sorry, my mistake. I saw 4K and supposed it was 4K blu-ray. I will edit my earlier post.

This is getting an exclusive one week early release next week in stores at Best Buy.

The website will likely stick to the normal release date of 1/23 though.

I'm watching this on the Apple TV 4K. It looks amazing. iTunes has the Dolby Vision version. This is more consistent in quality than Planet Earth II. The video quality is fantastic. Well worth the 19.99 price on iTunes.

The bamboo growth segment is one the best 4K Dolby Vision demos I have seen.

They can still be stunning and at least a short taster for guests you want to wow. The BBC tends to cull the very best looking footage from their nature series projects and amps up the audio too when putting out these short movies.

Oh, wow. Glad I read this. I was going to pick it up but now there’s is no need to. I have plenty of demo material already and I’m not repaying for what is essentially a cliff notes version of stuff I already have. WTF?

Planet earth 2 in UHD has plenty of demo scenes and what not. I wonder how many buyers that own planet earth 2 know they are buying the same content again? Pretty lame IMO.

So it’s the exact same content? Just less of it? Nothing new at all?

Yeah, I already own PE II and I'm fine with that.

Yep, it seems so.

I'm also glad I read this, otherwise I would have ordered it.

This will be in Dolby Vision.

Wasn't gonna get this since I figured it would mostly be recycled PE2 content, but Dolby Vision sold me. Hopefully it gets some new footage, or at the very least they cherry-picked the best stuff from PE2 since the PQ could be a little inconsistent at times with all the different cameras they use.

Hopefully this bodes well for Blue Planet 2 getting DV.
