I was wondering if you could download trophy support for say COD 4 or Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

Yes its possible to download 'updates' for games that are not released with Trophy Support. There is currently trophy support for Uncharted, so make sure you connect to the PSN Network when you start the game to download the patch for it. Though its up to the game developer to push the updates for trophy support and not all of them are willing to do so.

are they going to release a trophy patch for older games such as, heavenly sword, assasins creed, ratchet, etc?

It's possible that MGS4 might get a trophy patch, but I think Infinity Ward was pretty clear about being done with CoD4 updates (e.g. no trophies, no rumbling).

Yep, do not expect any further support from IW for COD4, unless they can make money on it, i.e. map packs. Civ Rev also won't get trophy support and AFAIK neither will Resistance or Ratchet, which sucks because I would've bought Ratchet.

You don't have to look for the patch at all. When you connect on-line the update with trophies automatically downloads. it's not in the PSN store.
