Question How Many 3D Blu-ray Discs Have You Not Yet Watched?

Hi all,

We talk about how many 3D discs we own or the last 3D movie we watched or purchased. But I just recently looked at my pile that I have yet to watch and its kind of big.

I counted 25 but that also does not include three pre orders plus another in transit. That makes my total 29.

Anybody that close? Is my number dwarfed by others?

Thought it would be fun comparing figures.

For those who collect multiple editions for the covers or artwork, assume you might have larger numbers in general. Could you also let us know the number not including duplicates so to get a comparison with us who purchase just single copies?

Out of the 220 or so 3D blu rays in my collection I'd estimate there's a good half of them that I haven't watched yet. I have seen pretty much all of what I own while they were in the theaters in 3D. I started buying 3D blu's years before I even had a 3D capable television and I've only had the 3D TV since July of last year so there's a lot of catching up to do still.

There are too many 3D discs I haven't watched, mainly German autoconversions and films I saw theatrically. I usually at least check the discs when I buy them but I have been burned a few times unfortunately.

I sat down to watch Transformers Age Of Extinction the other day, got half an hour in and then the image broke down and froze. I took the disc out and found that it was filthy despite me buying it new and sealed. After cleaning it there was still a scratch on the disc and the film would not play the full scene (with Frasier Crane on the aircraft carrier). So I have to buy a new set and sell off the duff one, lenticular cover and all.

My unwatched 3D percentage is probably around 40%.

But my unwatched 2D percentage is much higher... maybe 75%.

My current motto is 'buy less, watch more', I'm trying anyway...

Discs that don't work, when I finally get around to watching, is the stuff of nightmares.

Out of about 190, I haven't watched 12. For some the mood just hasn't struck me yet and others I saw theatrically.

Out or 233, I haven't watched 6. Note one of these I started to watch and disliked the movie itself so much I stopped watching and will probably never finish.

Out of well over 200 3D movies I haven't watched 6. Transformers The Last Knight and Wonder Woman. Texas Chainsaw (cause I am too chicken to watch it, lol) Metal Storm, Vampire Hunter and Rogue One. I also have 4 disc arriving soon.

Hi 13th,

Yeah, that's my only worry. Especially with those that are used.

Hi Frank,

If I include my 2Ds plus DVDs probably add another 30 or so.

Hi Law,

I've just recently retired but my excuse is my wife has dialysis three times a week so I just can't sit around the house watching them too. Often we do watch two a day.

Guys,

bookmark this thread.

For us who are married, we're running the risk of serious injury, getting it from our better halves when they look at our unwatched piles and see us ordering more.

To avoid getting hit on the head show them you're not alone and its a "must" for us! Plead insanity!

2 a day with your woman is not bad at all!

After work I usually go straight to the gym for an hour or two, then need groceries and sometimes other shopping. Then when i get home im already passing out and cant pay attention to anything longer than a 22 minute sitcom.

Same here. I can't wait more than a couple of days to watch any new title I buy. It's like Xmas morning any time one arrives.

It seems as though if people saw it in theaters in 3D they aren’t in a rush to rewatch it so soon again. Not sure if that’s the case for the one’s that watch them right away or not. Seems there’s only a 3 month turn around time from theater to blu ray nowadays. Too soon for me to rewatch some of them unless I absolutely loved it.

I wish I could show you my pile on my desk! I have bought probably 200 movies in 3D and 4K in the last few month and probably only watched about 10% of it. Luckily my office in a basement cave so my wife doesn't mind too much and doesn't notice the pile getting bigger and bigger. Luckily my spending spree is pretty much over except for new releases but you know how that goes.. it's getting slimmer and slimmer for 3D anyway. Maybe a good thing for me to catch up and watch my movies finally.

Usually, if I like a film enough to want to own it, that 3 or 4 month wait is agony for me! Even if I've already watched it at the cinema, I can't wait to see how good the 3-D looks on my TV. Four years on, that magic of popping in a new disc and putting on my 3-D glasses ready to be amazed hasn't dissipated in the slightest.

Hi law,

I've been a lifetime couch potato. Once when younger joined a gym. When others came out looking like Arnold Schwarzenegger, I came out looking like Dom Delouse.
