Default Don't you think last years deals were better

Other than some door busters which are generally impossible to get (Transformers 9.99 BB), the sales were lackluster. Especially J&R and Amazon. Amazon I recall last year had some great B1G1F deals and they included some very good titles. This year was lame titles everyone already had and it was mostly a B2G1F.

Nothing like a HD format war to lower prices. I know I held off on alot of purchases as I now the newness of most titles will eventually wear off and the prices will come down. In the meantime I can just grab it from my local Blockbuster as they have really expanded into Blu-Ray.

I thought the Amazon BUy 10 get $100 off was pretty darn good. Ended up getting 10 movies for $63.90.

I also thought the Amazon buy 10 and get $100 off was a great deal, Bonds turned out to be around $6.50 (if you purchased the first few days when the prices were lower). Overall, Black Friday sales were great, as good as last year, but after Black Friday, including Amazon's PS3 gold-box-day, the sales were generally very poor. I am wondering what after-holiday sales will be like to get rid of overstock:-)

So-Black Friday-decent online (I do not wait out for brick-and-morter sales in cold Minnesota at 5am), after Black Friday very poor, everything went back to normal prices, so it seems.

I'm not sure how one can complain about Amazon when basically they matched every black friday deal, and had that great buy so many Blu's get a certain dollar amount off. I guess a buy 2 get 1 is good and all but, if the prices are the normal $20+ doesn't seem to be as good a deal.

This plus some of there great gold box deals this season, Amazon I thought did an excellent job. What more do you want...

All I can say is retailers deserve the crappy results they're going to get this christmas for being too stupid to have decent sales and get people spending.

Exactly. There were no deals last year that resulted in an average of $6.39 per blu-ray. Especially not on Fox titles.

I also don't remember any deals last year even close to the Rambo Trilogy for $18 or the current Band of Brothers sale.

Too many people have good old day syndrome.

that buy 10 and get $100 amazon deal was good but i couldn't force myself to pay for those titles thinking that they would add titles or have some more deals with better selection down the line.

We haven't gotten as many good deals (bogo) as last year, but there has still been deals to be had nonetheless. I am satisfied with what I got this season.

I enjoyed the deals from Amazon, but only on the video games. Movie deals were not that hot.
My total damage during this period: Transformers $10, KungfuP $15, IJ $15, LBP $40, FarCry2 $26, Eternal Sonata $33, RR7 $10, NarutoNS $40, Spiderman Trilogy $43, Rambo2008 $15

Last year best blu-ray deal was buy 1 get 1 free, yes there more onsales, mainly cause is to battle vs. HD DVD. so far we don't had deal close to last year, but anyway overall price of blu-ray has drop. So I ain't complain plus there's many used copy of blu-ray outtherei n ebay and amazon, some of them cost like half less than the new price.

Did not know about the buy 10 get $100 off, that is a pretty good deal. Now my question is - What did the title selection look like? Was it pretty good with newer titles mixed in or was it mostly a bunch of older catalog titles.

I think someone mentioned the Bond ones so those definitely are new title material. How long did this deal run?

Overall sales were down only a couple of percent. Not bad considering the recession.

Internet sales were up a lot this year.
