Default The Rebirth of Mothra Trilogy Blu-ray Japan

Okay I know that Rebirth of Mothra was a dumbful movies for most of us that have soo many laughable plots but it's a memory treasure from my childhood.

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Rebir...lu-ray/108120/
So I already own the Sony Toho bluray version of Rebirth of Mothra Trilogy which released in the US 2014. Got it from Walmart for $9.99 which is a good price for 3 movies!! I also own the German Dvd version as well. However, when i compare the quality of the bluray to my DVD side by side, it appears the quality of sony toho blurays was just a lazy scale up and not an actual remaster quality. Only the first film actually got a good retouch and the other 2 films just double up together in 1 disce. Disappointing as it is, but the BD quality is still better than the DVD and I was happy with it.

Now Japan just released their bluray version in all three films + some additional materials and post cards.

Amazon Japan
BD desc from ebay

I wonder if they japan version will actually restore and remaster from the negative film for all 3 films. Looking at the BD description from this ebay picture, looks like each disc is 50G. Any advise or insight information before i import this??

Do a Google translate on the Japanese description of the disc and see if it says anything about 4K or a remaster. However I would keep your expectations low. I just imported the Frankenstein vs Baragon and Matango blurays tgat Toho rekeased a few weeks ago, and they were if tge same poor quality as the other Toho blurays released back in 2008.

That's good to know. I have both movies on Japanese dvd (as well as the later US releases) and was initially going to blind buy the Blu-ray releases. Are the extras the same as the original Japanese dvd releases for both films?

I don't have the DVDs but with the exception of the trailers, the other extras on this release are SD.
