Default Sony annouce receivers from the ES Line

Sony announce the 3300ES, 4300ES and 5300 ES.

The 4300ES and 5300ES will be able to decode both DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD via bitstream from a compliant HDMI 1.3 player.

Nice find! Sweet! I currently have an old Sony AVR. I probably will replace it with either a pioneer elite or denon, but I may consier one of these new sony's!

6 HDMI ports inputs! Damn!
It also has a "optical video in"! What is that? I think they screwed up on the wording!
It says "optical video 1 in" if you look at the photo of the back of the AVR you'll see what i'm talking about.

K.sorry..I keep thinking of things to add!
Being as this is from Sony! Why won't they make a bluetooth/IR hybrid remote! Ecspecially with their reciever! Geez!
Come on Sony...please! That would be so sweet to have the new reciever remote be compatible with their PS3!

The pisser is that Sony is DAMN proud of these things... you can tell by looking at the price points.

If is isn't too terribly long a wait, I may hold out for a Yamaha... but the fact that I can get the Sony in October may swing me away from waiting too long.

Hopefully, this news will spur the other manufacturers into stepping up with competing products which will drive the price points lower.

I might take a close look at the Denon 2308 for a retail of $850 and does Dolby TRUE-HD and DTS MA.

The bigger the dial, the finer you can adjust the volume level. The smaller the dial, the bigger the increments. Nowadays the dials are electronic though.

Thats cool. I wish these companies would start improving the screens on the receivers. Some are so hard to read. They should be the OEL 3D screens with menus like car stereos.
