The Rules of Attraction is another one. Apparently the BBFC realised later on that it hadn't been submitted, but I don't know if the disc was recalled or not.

Executive Decision is a censored cut that removes shots of the Koran for pointless PC reasons.

EDIT: Did some research didn't realise it was the non-US cut, I'm so used to the US version

I didn't know there were two.

Maybe someone else can help?

I noticed the extras on Dark Star (PG) contain the F-bomb. The film doesn't appear to have been rated for 20 years.

I think the PG release features the "Danny f-cking Kay!" accidentally, the 12 release is rated accordingly.

Mild spoilers follow for:

Related to the topic, how the hell is this film an 18 in 2017? I know that this isn't out yet in the UK, but I just watched it tonight, there is barely any language, no drugs, no suicide or sexual violence, no violence at all, in fact, and one sex scene which is hardly strong enough to break a modern 15. This seems like a really sexist classification, owing to the fact that there is a love scene between two women, and not a woman and a man (or even two men). In fact, this is surely nowhere near as graphic sexually as Brokeback Mountain, which was a 15 back in 2005!

If this is actually a genuine 2017 classification, it's exceptionally poor. I really wonder if it's just been passed down from 1986 on each subsequent occasion.

So these are the same discs, despite having different certifications?

I have the DVD version of the top one and it is definitely dubbed/censored.

Uncut UK Blu-rays not passed by the BBFC
I don't understand this. Uncut and not passed by the BBFC should mean unavailable in the UK shouldn't it? Or is it the odd titles that just seem to trickle out as some previous version was rated etc.?

I think with most of the warners ones they passed the cut versions on DVD back in the day, but wb just ported the US disc over to the UK which were uncut, knowing them an ignorant mistake in not knowing their own films rather than pulling the wool over the BBFC.

Isn't it just that old BBFC cuts got reinstated for the BluRay release?

What release are you referring to specifically?

Warner broke the "rules" releasing a lot of these without resubmitting them to the BBFC. Of course most of them would be uncut these days. I assume the BBFC let it fly if they did know about it.

The audio commentary was passed as '15' in Sept. Clearly the BBFC don't have a problem with the visuals at that category. If you say there's no very strong swearies then it's probably a case of an old classification being carried over to save time and money. Happens a lot.

These are titles that have been passed previously in cut versions but NOT in the uncut versions now available on Blu-ray. Technically, they're illegal. But no one seems bothered. I figured it might be fun to do a list for anyone interested.

EDIT: I've changed the thread title. Hopefully it's clearer now.

As far as I know they're the exact same disc, around the same time the US had a re-master, but we got a re-issue. The disc in the set is the BBFC12 rated one.

Oddly enough, Muppet Treasure Island is another one; the DVD had some mild swearing dubbed over to avoid a PG, but the BD is uncut despite carrying the old U rating.

In all fairness, Carol was rated 15 and that has a fairly explicit scene between the two leads.
