In other words, the 4K restorations on standard Blu-ray discs, like E.T. (35th Anniversary Edition).
Not to sound rude or annoying, but does anyone have an answer to my previous message which is quoted above this brief message?

I suspect it is TOO early to know. Patience required.

E.T. was already released on Blu-ray based on 4K restoration, so they just used the same disc.

Maybe they will make a new disc, or maybe not. Relax, it's MONTHS away.

The Gary Rydstrom remix for 3D is revisionist and he added Jaguar/Puma sounds for Raptors in the kitchen scene. He also copied environmental sounds from one portion and pasted them on others in addition to looping certain sounds. I really hope the original unaltered theatrical DTS track is included along with anything else.

Also, I hope they please release the deleted scenes at last. It has been a looooooong time!

How are we supposed to know?
Anyway the answer with 99.999% certainty is no.

Catch Me If You Can's filmic grain structure on the blu-ray is what I hope they can pull off with the Jurassic films in 2018. If the DNR from at least Jurassic Park is gone, I'll consider the year a success. lol.

Yeah but considering what a great release The Mummy was, I'm not too worried

Only The Mummy received a new remaster. Parts 2 and 3 were simply upscaled and had a lot of mosquito noise and smearing. So, JP2 and 3 will in all likelihood be just upscales of the early-2000 HD masters.

Wasn't Borne one of their first? Shortly after Oblivion? They've only been getting better and better.

Depends how involved Spielberg wants to be, hopefully at least 1 and 2 would be treated right in that case. World shouldn't take much work beyond the HDR pass. Can't wait to see how that one looks.

but the skin tone colors are so .... orange ... eesh

I honestly don't think any home video version has been faithful to it's original 35mm premier engagements or it's DTS 5.1 soundmix (the DTS laserdisc comes pretty close though).

Here's hoping it finally happens this year! There exists a 4K restoration of the negative supervised by Spielberg. We saw how great the latest ET and Close Encounters releases were.

The same color treatment but with wider color gamut should look more natural; standard Blu-ray can only handle so much.
