Default Brand New PSP Owner, now what games?

What would be the best games to get for the PSP.

So far I'm looking at getting Hot Shots, Midnight Club, Twisted Metal, God of War.

What do you guys suggest?

Yeah I can get those cheap.

So far my 3 looks like GOW, FF7-Crisis, and MGS or GTA.

What do you think?

(Also getting Hot Shots 2 and Twisted Metal for free from Sony RLS) (could change one to rachet and clank size matters)

Oh, just bought my 6 year old a psp. What are some good games for him? I'm gonna pick up a few for myself based off of some of the recommendations in here.

Sorry to bust in on your thread Cali...just didn't want to start a new one.

check it.

god of war is a must. MGS plays just like its ps2 counterpart but feels a little stiff in controls. however i enjoyed it much. and at 20 bux its a steal. not to mention it has online capabilities. gta is fun and big but its the same reused islands as its ps2 counterparts, thats not a bad thing

FF7 Crisis Core is amazing. if ur gunna go for a gta get Liberty City.

dont overlook Powerstone, Patapon, Guilty Gear Judgement (only 6 bux on psn), Wipeout (free dlc), Tekken, Lumines... lots more. im at work right now and playing GoW:CoO... so amazing. we tend to have the same taste in games from what ive seen... check out these games.

I've played all sorts of games for PSP, and here are ones I recommend:

Puzzle Games

Lumines -- good puzzle game, and time killer...may be hard to find, but the original is better than Lumines II

Crush -- strange game where you can crush a 3D world into 2D to help solve puzzles...not for everybody, but if you like puzzles, it's good, and different

echochrome -- I like the PSP version better (than the PS3 one)...not that they're really different, it just seems like it was made to be a portable game

RPGs

Crisis Core -- good game, even if you haven't really played FFVII...I suggest getting this, and then you can always "find" an ISO copy of FFVII and copy that onto your PSP, and run through that classic afterward

Jeanne D'Arc -- an SRPG about Joan of Arc (obviously) but they take a lot of liberties with the story (including having humanoid animals, magic, monster, etc.)

Disgaea -- a huge time dump, the character creation can get pretty deep, and I think the max level is 9999, so you can play this game for a long time

I like SRPG's more on PSP, because they're perfect for playing in short bits of time, when on a bus, or killing time between classes, or whatever

Other Games

Patapon -- really original idea, requires having basic rhythm, but also involves a bit of strategy for each level...also, it's fairly cheap to buy

Hot Shots Golf -- the newer version isn't a huge upgrade from the first, so you might just want to pick up the first one (since it's cheaper)...but either is fine. Like echochrome, I also like this more on PSP (than PS3) because it's a nice to pick up and breeze through a quick round when you have a few minutes to waste.

NES, SNES, GameBoy, etc. emulators -- I don't really want to go into detail about how these work on a PSP, but it's fairly simple, and suddenly you have all the greatest games from your childhood in portable form, ready to take/play anywhere. Of course, I don't suggest downloading ROMs for games you don't actually own.

RE: Remote Play

you can control your ps3 using your psp from any wireless hot spot you have available to you. also if there is a ps1 disc in your ps3 you can play it on your psp. some ps3 titles even let you play on the small screen (psp) games such as lair and pjm. its a cool feature, experiment!
