How many times have you replaced your Xbox 360? - Blu-ray Forum

I know many people here are Xbox 360 owners and I am curious how many times you have had to replace it.

Please only Xbox 360 owners respond to the poll.

I bought mine the day the system came out and have never had to replace it.

I think I got the only one that wasn’t defective. 2 years has to be some kind of record.

I got one the day it came out to have it break down on me two weeks later. Then it took them almost a month to replace that one and the replacement one broke on me in November. I had a second replacement that I sold when I got my PS3.

Mine broke in the first 12 hours. And then again in March. I now own an Elite.

Zero because I got rid of mine when it got bad. I didn't feel like dealing with MS just to get another that was bound to break sooner or later. I will remain PS3 only until they redesign the 360 to fix the problem.

I've had mine since Dec 05 and never had an issue. I did have some freezing in the first year, but haven't seen it since. I suspect the last fall update fixed some of it.

1 time then I upgrade and sold it. Waiting for MS to get their sh7t together, hopefully a price drop by then as well. I like gaming but I don't want to be swapping it out in the mail for 4-6 weeks a few times a year just to play games.

well I kept waiting and waiting and waiting to develop enough confidence for the red rings of death and overheating issues to be properly addressed. And when that never happened to my satisfaction I bought a PS3 last January and have never looked back.

I own and still use on occasion the 1st Xbox and was planning to buy the xbox360. But with all of the reports of defective units and lackluster support from Microsoft, I went back to Playstation (former PS1 owner)

And I could not be happier with my decision

I think (and please correct me if I am wrong) that many people with multiple failures buy a new 360, it fails. They get it replaced. The replacement fails..and so on. This pattern doesn't indicate a 360 issue, rather a repair issue.

I know some people have had the unfortunate luck of having multiple new ones fail, but a large number of multiple failures are in fact repeat failures on the same unit.

And that number is wrong because people keep voting for 0 even if they didn't own one. Meaning if we filtered them out, there'd be a higher ratio of people whose 360 broke versus the people who never had problems. I'd really like to know how many people, who actually own one, haven't had any problems.
