Question New to this forum and to Blu-ray..Need help!

Hey guys, I recently bought a 22inch HD LCD for my bedroom.

The link below is to the LCD that i have:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1218006548849

Right now all i got is my LCD connected to my Comcast HD Digital cable box with a HDMI cable.

As far as an audio setup i don't have any since i can't afford to get one. During the daytime and afternoon i listen to whatever i'm watching on tv from the tv speakers. At night i listen to whatever i'm watching on tv from stereo headphones that are connected to the headphone jack that the LCD has so i don't wake up any of the family.

Next week me and my mom plan to go to either Best Buy or Circuit City to purchase a blu-ray player but the only problem is i don't know what to look for.

I'm getting the Blu-Ray player as a late Christmas gift from her since she couldn't afford to get it for me in time for Christmas.

All she has is $300 to spend on a Blu-Ray player . Can you guys give me some tips on what to get?

I definetly want a nice picture and good sound as much as possible for the $300 that will be spent on whatever Blu-Ray player i get.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I saw this on Best Buy's website, I am not sure if that is really a 'Sale' price, but I do see recommendations for the Sony S350 pretty often.

I believe the Samsung BD-P1500 is available at Costco for $179. It is a Profile 2.0 player and BD-Live ready.

The Panasonic DMP-BD35K is regarded as the best standalone player out there right now. My parents have one and love it. They got it for $200 at Costco on a coupon a few weeks ago, but can generally be found for ~$250 online. Amazon's out of stock right now, FYI.

I've heard some people don't like Samsung's players, but to each his own. Considering players were $500+ a year ago, $250 isn't too shabby :-D

I had a choice between getting the Samsung BD-P1500 Blu-Ray player that i got or the Insignia NS-2BRDVD they had for $249.99

I only had $300 to spend and all the other Blu-ray players Best Buy had were over $300 including tax.

I have had my Blu-ray player only for a couple of hours and i'm loving it.

Even regular DVD's look good on my Blu-ray player.

I don't know about you but when i first took the Blu-Ray player out of the box and connected it and turned on the power i got a little bit emotional in a good way.

I have never gotten emotional over anything but i can't believe i have over a Blu-Ray player.

I remember from how excited i was from having my first Blu-ray player i went an entire day without sleeping.

Now i have given up on video games and all i invest my time and money on is on buying Blu-ray movies.

In a few days it's going to be 1 month that i own my Blu-ray player and i already have around 30 movies.
