Thanks to those idiots I have an almost endless supply of 3d movies that are perfect.

So you are indeed right. Let's quit crying in our beer and say a three cheers to these morons who gave us the perfect lg 3d tvs to go along with the hundreds of 3d movies that we can now buy for $10.00 or less each.

I just hope they loss an ass wad of monies giving me these 3d masterpieces, both the tv manufacturers and the studios! Hip, hip, hooray, you manufacturing and studio stooges!
Your anger is misplaced. The general public spoke and they did not care. Period.

If the studios made money on 3D, we would still have it.

After hearing people confirm the UK Valerian 3D was region B locked and with T2 3D just around the corner I couldn't take it anymore. I figured why keep paying more and more for the Asian region A releases when there's much cheaper alternatives. Once I get over the sticker shock I'll finally start importing some of the titles that are region B only and I'll finally get to watch Ratatouille in 3D.
Good choice. Now you have the freedom to choose from wherever, its an awesome perk.

I really hate to be contributing to one of these annoying duplicate threads I'm sick of the sight of but I do have to point out that if the studios made 3D movies the way they used to, instead of their timid conservative "is this even" 3D, maybe the public would have cared more.

3D haters played a huge part on this too, their ability to influence people with their reviews was amusing, than you add the common known factors of studios trying to cash in fast with poor conversions plus poor equipment being used by theaters then also poor 3D at home (passive with less than 1080p res). Very few people had a real chance of enjoying a true 3D experience to make up their minds.

Can all these threads be combined please
Actuallhy I didn't see the other threads when I was writing my OP.

My big complaint is the number of titles that were released in the movies in 3d but now see only a 4k release in the U.S.

Note also that Its not true that the Blu-ray manufacturers lost money on 3-d. Their sales may not be what the want and the profits might be lower but they Didn't lose money on most titles. And as many of us know you can get many of their titles in 3-d Overseas (i.e they have spent the money to do the encode, making the cost of manufacture much lower).

If an admin wants to combine this with other treads that's fine with me.

How much did Bombay Electronics charge for the X800? I'm thinking of getting this player as well!

If the general public spoke, as you say, why do they continue to release 3d in other countries? Did they take a poll in every country that has access to 3d and determine that everyone else in the world loved 3d and the people of the US just hated it? And if so where can I find the results of that poll?

Thor Ragnarok seemed to do pretty well in 3d last time I checked box office numbers in the US. I guess it would have been even better if they had just released it in 2d everywhere.

My anger is not displaced. It is placed solely on the aholes who have decided the US will receive no more 3d movies. We bought our tvs based on promises from them that they would support 3d. Even if your assumption is right that they are losing money, they made a promise to us that they have not kept. They have again shown their true colors. We are being led by the nose to support 4k. Wait until 4k flops. I will be laughing in their faces.

They don't know it yet but they literally killed the golden goose when they killed 3d. Just when they got it perfect and cheap they took it out back and shot it. It was the real future of tv, and they just pissed it away.

The only thing worse than a traitor is a stupid traitor.

Just bring me Astro Boy in 3D. I'd pay a premium for some of these 3D movies they have withheld from being released in any country. I also saw Trolls 3D in theaters and so far have yet to purchase the 2D of it.....even when it was like $6. Like others suggested, if I do buy a copy it will be a used one and not from a retailer.

I was going to keep quiet what I paid.....but after letting them know that the unmodded versions are selling at every major retailer for $149.99 right now I asked if they had any wiggle room from their normal price of $450. They came back with a buy it now offer of
[Show spoiler]$325 shipped.

I figured that's not too much more than I was contemplating buying the Sony S6500 model for. Then I added the Square Trade 3 year plan for another $55. I would try their best offer tab if they still have it in place.

Thanks! I saw Bombay's price for the X800 when I searched for any region free players of the X800.
