But,what about actors who never played cop in any movie?


I don't remember Day Lewis or Williams ever played cops.

Brando was a sheriff in The Chase and Newman, I assume you mean Paul Newman, was a cop in Fort Apache, The Bronx.

As for who never played a cop, I don't think that Spencer Tracy ever did.

Off the top of my head, I would say Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman haven’t played cops. Can anyone confirm?

Actually, Spencer Tracy did play a cop in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

Didn't Robert Redford play a wounded cop in the Twilight Zone episode Nothing In The Dark? Of course, one could argue that was a bit of a ruse as he did turn out to be much more than a cop...

I was thinking of him, so I skimmed through IMDB for anything that would jump out as a cop role. Apparently he plays a character named "Sgt Eddie Pepper" on 'Angie Tribeca' (a show I've never seen). I'm assuming the Sgt before his name means he's a cop.
