Default Video and Audio dropouts on my setup? Any ideas?

OK guys, I am getting video and audio dropouts from time to time on my equipment and was wondering if anyone had these issues. Also I was wondering how they solved the problem. I've got an XBR4, a Sony 350 blu-ray player, and a Denon 2809CI receiver. I've already replaced the hdmi cables with monoprice cables and the problem still exists. What happens is the audio and video drop out for approximately 2 seconds and then all is fine again.

It doesn't do it every movie I watch, but it happened with my bdp s300 as well. Could it be the speaker wires doing something? I can't think about what else it could be. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Speaker wire will not mess with the video. Using HDMI? I used duct tape to help hold in the HDMI to the port & it fixed my drop outs.

I had the S350 for a while and It had the same problem. I exchanged the unit a couple of times and still had the same problems on some movies. I had it connected directly to my Sony 46" LCD. No receiver. So I guess there are some bad units out there....

I bought a new S350 player on BF. It has worked flawlessly.

Since you said your old S300 did the same thing, then I don't think the S350 is defective. Since both audio and video are affected by the problem, that rules out speaker connections.

The problem must be in your HDMI cable or connection. How long is your HDMI cable? Monoprice cables will do fine for shorter lengths under 4 or 5 meters. Longer cables might cause problems unless they are very high quality.

Make sure the connections at both ends of the cable are secure too.

Default Thanks for the responses guys...

I'm using a 6 foot hdmi from my s350 to my receiver and another 6 footer from receiver to TV. I have no idea what could be causing it. I sure hope it isn't my Denon. That would suck. Thanks for the responses guys.

I'm using HDMI cables yes sir. Duct tape huh? Interesting. I might have to give it a try.

Have you try S350, directly to the TV?

No I haven't, but I probably should for a while. I just can't stand watching movies without lossless sound now. It's probably something I should do though to completely investigate.

I could've sworn I saw a post on a forum within the last month mentioning the pairing of a Denon Receiver with a Sony TV was creating the issue you are talking about. I think it might have been on AVS or HTF.

Really? Thats very interesting. Hmm. Maybe I need to buy the Sammy 950 sooner rather than later. I guess I will try and find it on there.

Default Well guys...

I'm gonna be doing some research on this subject today when I get some time. In the meantime, if anybody knows of anyone that has gotten this issue resolved I would love to hear what was done. Thanks again everybody for your responses. Other than this super annoying issue i'm really lovin my setup. I wonder if this same issue exists with Sammy tv's or Pioneers.
