i dont have a credit at all, i screwed it up when i was 18 and am working to get it back on track. so i went to aarons to get my tv, i know and fully understand how much i am paying for it. i just want to know if what i bought was worth it?

I think you'll have a hard time finding many people that would say it's "worth it." By the time you are done paying for this tv the rent to own way..... you could have had a nice sound system as well; if only you'd have just socked those weekly payments away somewhere and saved enough to pay cash. Fixing your bad credit is really going to be a matter of controlling your urge to buy things you that really can't afford; and making good decisions. Not to be harsh..... just offering advice from some who has been there done that (not the rent to own thing.... just the really improving my credit score thing.)

I had a friend once you worked at a rent-to-own store. He told me that when he first starting working there he was sent on job to collect money from a customer who had stopped paying.

Well long story short the customer said he had paid enough money and wasn't going to make any more payments. My friend went back to the store and told the manager what had happened. The manager looked up the guys payment history in the computer and said "o.k. mark him as paid off".

Obviously my friend didn't understand and the manager explained that since the customer had paid the msrp plus 25% (I think is was this, maybe a little more) then there was nothing they could do. If they tried to go to court the judge would only make him pay 25% over msrp anyway so they just closed the account.

Don't know how accurate this is anymore, but something to think about. Either way, I say enjoy your tv.

Looking over it's stats it seems to be a good set, only question is how much a month and for how long. Seems like the prices on the net are around 1,800 or so shipped. Not sure how much these places get but if in the end it runs you over 3 grand you will be kicking yourself in the rear.

Rent to Own is about 2-3x the cost that it would be to purchase it out right. It is better to save the money that you would be spending each week and then buy it outright after a bit. Of course to each their own, if you feel this is the best way to do it, then it's not really our place to judge.

The only thing worse than rent to own is going for a payday loan. Both are incredibly stupid, and will cost you more than it's worth.

NEVER do it again.

Rent to Own should be illegal. Everytime I see those damn ads and trucks in my area I want to puke.

These places prey on the poor and ppl with little or no credit. They can all go to HELL!

Can i have some of you money to? Becuase that is literaly all you're doing is giving it away.

Seriously just get a credit card and start building credit. Pay if off every month and just keep at it. In one year you'll have enough credit to walk into BB or CC and get *almost* what ever you want.
