Do any UK releases use the term Unrated?

It used to be the case that they didn't (because you can't release unrated stuff here)

It should still say extended or uncut though.
EDIT It's the same poster as the UK Uncut version, that's where my money is.

I've noticed it less and less in recent years. It's not as marketable over here.

Hey Petra! I'll look into this further for you by raising it with one of my senior colleagues here at Zavvi. I completely agree though the 'Theatrical Cut' is extremely better!

You can expect a response back from me within the next 24 hours... This can be a lot sooner though!

Thanks,
James

So I've heard back really quick, must be a Monday morning thing!

I can confirm for you that it will be the Theatrical version unless stated

Does this help?

Thanks,
James
“...unless stated ☺️“

Not very inspiring. I believe tyat he meant to say “unless otherwise stated.”

Ha! Customer service reps tend to speak in tongues most of the time "It will not not be the theatrical cut unless it doesn't say anything which it will not, unless it changes." Always clear and concise

It appears the original uncut Region B Blu-ray from 2008 released by Entertainment in Video in UK is OOP. So that raises the possibility of this indeed being a new pressing with the theatrical cut. This could be a smart move by Zavvi with this releases if it will be the only Blu-ray with the theatrical cut if it pans out. Still expecting it to be the unrated cut but either way this will be a new pressing since the old UK one is now OOP. So lets just say now it is possible it will be the theatrical cut only unless they are using old stock from Entertainment in Video for the discs.

You guys realise that Warner regained the UK distribution rights to this release from EIV?
This is the first Blu ray release of this film by Warner Brothers in the UK. The recent Warner Brothers release on DVD IS the theatrical cut.

It's not guaranteed but all evidence suggests this will be the theatrical cut.

- One a semi-related note would someone be kind enough to add this to the database? It's a huge help for me keeping track of what I own and have ordered!
(also can any member add cover artwork to a database entry and if so will it change for everyone or just the person adding it?) Thanks

Sorry, but I just think it is dumb to want a steelbook of this movie and even dumber to actually buy it.

It's even dumber to not want a steelbook of this movie and not want to buy it!

I’ve added it to the database, so it should go live in a few hours. To answer the above question, anyone can add covers, but it’ll change for everyone, so please make sure it’s official artwork.

I’ve put a temp order in as I didn’t want it to sell out and then find it is the theatrical cut. Though do remember, the original US release, by Warner/New Line, is the Unrated, so it’s all very 50/50.

There is hope of it being the theatrical cut a poster stated the new DVD from Warner in UK has the theatrical thrown on. Maybe they will do the same with the Blu-ray since they have the distribution rights for the theatrical cut and the 2008 UK BD which was not distributed by Warner UK is OOP. Yes it's all very 50/50 on this release till confirmed.

Well... we should find out soon enough if Zavvi was lying about the theatrical cut or not. Orders are being despatched. I got my shipping notification about 45 minutes ago.

If anyone in the UK ordered this, can you report back to us the runtime as soon as it arrives please? If it isn’t the theatrical I can just refuse the delivery so that I don’t have to deal with their “reimburse a pprtion of the return shipping fee” bullshit. Thanks!

Went ahead and took the plunge on it hoping it's going to be the theatrical cut. If not I will still be cool with it since I like the steelbook packaging but it will feel kind of pointless if no theatrical cut is on it. It will be a packaging only upgrade if that's the case since I have it already. This is probably in my top 20 all-time favorite movies, yes I did like the sequel and hope they do a third one.

Looks like it can still be ordered, and according to the site, it is region free. As soon as someone here confirms that it is the theatrical cut, I'll place an order.

I don't care for the actual steelbook itself (I can live with it, but the packaging in this instance isn't something that I'd go out of my way to obtain), so my only real interest in this is if it's the theatrical cut.
