(some NSFW language though)

I'll probably skip this one, anniversary or not, a movie-length retelling of the first season with new companions and recent Pokemon isn't ever going to be necessary, and kind of defeats the purpose... BUT good for them on releasing it on BD, maybe we can get more of the previous movies out on BD.

I considered seeing this at the theater, because I heard its story had somewhat more emotional impact than other Pokemon films, but I would’ve had more interest if they brought back Brock, Misty, and also Veronica Taylor as the voice of Ash.

Oh wow we're finally getting the newer movies on Blu-ray? I never thought I'd see the day, Viz has really surprised me with Pokemon lately. Instant preorder.

Basically to reintroduce the beginning of the franchise to new viewers and kids while for some reason leaving out the original characters? It really doesn't make sense to do a nostalgia themed movie and then leave out what made it nostalgic... Misty and Brock, the original voice actors, etc.

The main reason I think Misty and Brock were left out was to throw in Sinnoh Pokemon and characters with ties to Sinnoh - example is the new main female character possibly being the daughter of Cynthia, featuring Lucario and Piplup, etc... The TCG is doing the same thing with the upcoming "Ultra Prism" set in February. The set is nearly all Sinnoh based Pokemon and trainers, all hinting at the future possibility of Diamond and Pearl remakes.

Everything about Pokemon is one big advertisement for the video games, TCG, anime, all of it is connected in one way or another. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie though. I haven't enjoyed a Pokemon movie in years prior to this one.

I'd rather be on Santa's naughty list than watch this.

Actually, this was pretty decent for a Pokemon movie.

And Pikachu already have "talked" in the series, for example in episode 17 when they get stranded on an island with giant Pokemon.

It was on Disney XD a few times a few weeks ago. They tend to repeat stuff a lot so it will probably be on again at some point.

I didn’t know it was on tv. I only saw it being advertised in the theater

Pokemon never includes Japanese audio on discs in the US, only the English dub.
