I agree, excellent art on both the front and back ( and the inside reveal...doesn't).
Not quite up to par with the DaVinci calibre of the "From Hell" Steel but we can't have lightning strike twice I suppose....

To me the remake was a complete waste of time. What was particularly insulting was how much the director talked up about how important the original book was to him and then he ends up just copying the Swedish film almost verbatim except with the usual dumbing down and making it 'louder'.

I.e. for the pool scene (spoilers)

[Show spoiler]Compare the composition of the original scene to the remake. In the Swedish film it's very quiet with the carnage going on in the background and in the remake we have loud noises and severed heads flying at the camera.

Do you like incredibly well made movies with superb acting?
Yes?
Then you will love this one.

The remake is a travesty though (as expected).

After you watched it, watch this for a in-depth comparison.
(SPOILERS!)

This one also doesn't treat the audience like toddlers.

^ Thanks for the link (above) to the "Essential Viewing" comparative analysis.
I was a little more (ok, a LOT MORE) generous forgiving the noted transgressions of the remake but these guys nailed it pretty damn spot on.
If the original did not exist, "Let Me In" would be a mediocre, fun vampire romp.
But, because it does, its' shadow eclipses any and all merit the remake might otherwise have.
Like most films, stick with the original...

Got this in today.

What a beautiful steelbook. I didn’t own this on Blu yet so this is a nice added piece to my collection.

As you might notice further up the thread, the Kimchi is (even today) still available.
Now, whether you need a premium edition of a film's release or not is totally your call (same film, different package) but personally, films I care a great deal for, I seek out premium packaging.

edit: I guess this rationale would explain why I have 4 distinct copies of "Perfume".....

If I only could get that Kimchi steelbook for a reasonable price....
But on the other hand I was able to get myself the German retailer exclusive wooden box set, that comes with actual perfume bottles.
This here: http://moovimetro.blogspot.de/2012/0...ates-2010.html

Still crazy that that movie sits at like 56 on metacritic (I don't choose my movies based on that). It's another masterpiece.

And don't ask me how many copies of OldBoy + Snowpiercer + Ghost in the Shell 2 I own.

Oh, my goodness, that is exquisite.
Well done.
FYI; I've noticed "Perfume's" Blu premiums show up on EBay for not unreasonable prices on occasion but; with what you have (backed up by ANY Blu) you win...

Mine came in with some scratches.

[Show spoiler]

Are these common with Zavvi? Wondering if it’s worth the hassle in getting an exchange.

I do not think that’s common. Just checked mine and it doesn’t have any scratches.

Probably happened during manufacturing.
Unless cellophane was damaged as well.

And no, that's not common, but it happened for me on 1 or 2 steelbooks as well.

My "Wild At Heart" steelbook arrived in some sort of glue. And that was behind the cellophane.

I guess it would have been even better if you checked before removing the cellophane, but just send them the photo and ask them for a replacement and see how it goes. Worked fine for me back then with WaH.

I watched this again tonight. Haven’t seen it in a while.

This may just be in my top 10 horror films list.

I'd like to buy this, but can anybody give me any info about extras and a/v quality of the master? I've noticed that the KimchiDVD edition has a BD50 while this and all European releases have just a BD25, so maybe there are differences between the two releases.

I had it but sold it as it was a blind buy and didn’t particularly enjoy it.
I can’t recall what extras were on it(I guess whatever is listed on the standard BD)but the audio and picture were very good,I remember that much.
