Thumbs up Hellboy 2 in 7.1....amazing!!

I finally got to check out my first 7.1 dts master audio blu-ray after getting my new receiver..I had already rented Hellboy 2 and watched it in regular dts and it sounded great. Then after reading a few reviews of the hd soundtrack I rented it again. The sound is simply amazing. I played it at -20(my normal listening volume) and I almost got a headache. The bass vibrated through my leather sectional and all sorrounds were fully active. If you have'nt seen or heard this movie yet..get it.It will show you what your system is made of.

okay, pull subwoofer out!! only 7.0 channel. that's my solve problem for you! i believe more speakers 7 or more sound than subwoofer! the subwoofer is good for only vibrated rumble, boom! it''s best music than a movie for subwoofer.

Wait, what? No - the subwoofer is not just for rumble and boom!

The subwoofer is one of the most important components of the system! It is especially important for movies. IMO order of importance: Left,Center,Right, SUB, surrounds

I'm going to echo everyone else and say what? The sub is one of the most important features of a home theater, and it does a lot more than provide vibration and boom. It should provide clean, tight, and powerful bass that can also pack a punch and give the low frequency rumble as well. If you only get boom, odds are you need a better subwoofer.

You need seven speakers and a subwoofer for 7.1 - with 4 speakers and one sub, you are missing a center channel and the two surround back speakers.

Thanks for the input. I'll have to wait until I move to hear the 7.1 presentation but will have to listen in a 5.1 presentation for the time being.

That's right. You will need two more speakers for 7.1. Although don't think that it is a huge difference going from 5 to 7.

I never said I hated my subs....I love them.I just meant the bass was amazing and the surrounds were all fully active....and why would'nt you be able to tell a diff from 5.1 when (in my case) there are two additonal channels pumping out 130 watts each.DTS MA 7.1 rules!

There's a lot of confusion on this thread, I've noticed.

In any case, haze - I'm going to pop in both and have a Hellboy marathon tomorrow!

In short, Google translation has failed us all again. No one has a clue what you're saying.
