Erm no, although I suspect the movie is crap, this looks a lot better than what DVD could achieve. Overly aggressive color saturation is a spoiler but the image does look more crisp and detailed than DVD.

I think it looks worse than DVD.

Just look at that green lawn screenshot of everybody when they are dancing. That screenshot alone gives the whole picture of Bollywood BRD standards when it comes to digital cinematography.

There is no contrast at all. There is no background to foreground seperation. All you see is excessive colors oversaturation. Absolutely no details. Looks like cartoon characters are digitally placed on the lawn.

Lets hope Dolby Vision and HDR standards are adopted by Bollywood like Dolby Atmos etc in future. This is the only hope. These days, unless digital cinematography is done by current working ace cinematographer like Mohanan (RAEES), Bollywood films are looking worse and worse on big screen and specially on BRDs.

That is exactly how this one looked in cinemas. This is your signature trademark rohit shetty style of filming. In the history of all his films, he never ever cared about the color tone, contrast or background foreground stuff. All his movies are so color aggressive, they all look movies in HDTV Saas Bahu color scheme blown up in 1080p for the big screen.

Watched this yesterday with great difficulty. I must say this is the dumbest movie I've ever seen, period! To think that this movie actually made good money is even more shocking. Blu-ray PQ is substandard of course, contrast-boosted, too much color nonsense.
