Mill Creek will be releasing a Kevin Bacon 6-Film Collection, which includes several films previously released by them, but also includes Where The Truth Lies, which I believe is a first for the format, so that's primarily what I decided to make this thread about.

I'm a fan of Where the Truth Lies. It's an extremely disturbing film, but very well-done.
I've seen all of the other movies in the set as well, and they all range from decent to excellent. However, this package gets a huge pass from me. I don't mind getting sets of movies together, but if this has only 2 Blu's & 6 films, then that means 3 films will be on a disc. That's a little too much, and the PQ will suffer as a result. That being said, the PQ may still be slightly better than the DVD, but probably not much better. Last edited by AnamorphicWidescreen; 12-20-2017 at 06:14 PM. |

Never thought Where the Truth Lies would make it to Blu-ray at this point, so I ended up buying the DVD from a thrift store a couple of years ago. I'll probably get this, since it's a ton of movies for what will probably be a cheap price.

If the specs are right, "IN THE CUT" will be the R version instead of the uncut unrated version Mill Creek released earlier. Or it's just a typo. "Where the Truth Lies" is still the Unrated version, so it's not about being ratings safe for all retailers.
"Where the Truth Lies" is a terrific Egoyan film, but I just feel really cheap buying this type of multi-pack, especially by actor and including a bunch of films I don't want in my collection. I can handle an occasional double-feature release, but this is sending me back to all those Brentwood DVD multi-packs. I think I'll just stick with the standalone DVD of "WTTL" for now. It just seems more respectful to the film. Since none of these films really have anything in common outside of featuring Bacon, Mill Creek should have called it the "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon Collection" and had some fun with it. |

What's interesting for me is that, outside of The Hollow Man, I don't own any of the films in this set:
The Big Picture: Amusing late '80's film, but probably my least favorite film in this set. That being said, it would be nice to have this on Blu. Flatliners: Superb & atmospheric horror/suspense film - one of my favorites. In the Cut: One of my favorite 200X dramas. Really liked the NYC setting, storyline, and acting; very underrated & disturbing. Trapped: Decent film, and also underrated. Bacon plays a great psychopath in this. I'm a big fan of the pop/rock group Hole, so it was nice to see Courtney Love here as well. Where the Truth Lies: Obviously, the gem of the set here. So, if this were being handled better - i.e., if there were three Blu's with two films on each individual Blu - I would be a lot more inclined to get this. None of these films are crappy or terrible. However, the fact that they're shoving three films on one Blu reeks of cheapness & just trying to make a quick buck - instead of going the extra mile and including just one more Disk. This is akin to DVD's back in the 200X's having multiple films on one side and/or being double-sided (resulting in crappy PQ, and/or the increased chances of scratched disks). This was obviously done by these companies to save money...all to the detriment of the consumer/collector. |

More Atom Egoyan is always good news. I was going to get the iTunes version soon, but now need to think about which one I should go for... Ah, the set actually has The Hollow Man, so I might go for this set instead.
BTW, Where the Truth Lies is NR (not rated) on iTunes while In the Cut is rated R. Maybe it’s the decision by Sony to let Mill Creek release the R rated version (since the Unrated version has the hardcore insert)? |

Mill Creek has already released In the Cut (in a two pack with Trapped) and it was the unrated version, I'd be very surprised if they didn't include the exact same version.

Now aptly called the "Six Degrees Collection", and new cover art to match:
