Are these Nova Media remastered titles, or just the same upscales with fancy packaging?

First HD release for Hand of Death (Countdown in Kung Fu) so we'll have to wait and see.

The Big Brawl was given a 2K remaster, but whether this is it, or a re-release of the old upscale remains to be seen.

Hand of Death was released on Blu Ray in Germany, which i think i heard was an upscale, but never saw it myself.

Yeah, that would suck if an upscale gets used instead of a legit 2k master. But, we are talking about Fortune Star here, so, it really could go either way.

But, those sure are some pretty covers...

TBB was a decent enough movie but the action suffered. I have the dvd and not so sure that I need it on blu-ray. But, did the Shout release use the 2k master? If so, I could just pick that up, and, I would get City Hunter included. Not so sure that I need HOD on blu-ray but might make an exception if it turns out that a true HD source is being used.

also in Japan i think. German is rotten Upscale. don't see why it should be better anywhere else, no Announce of "2K 4K 8K HD Remaster" by Fortune Star.

No, Shout's BRAWL is a lousy upscale.

Oddly, their HUNTER is genuine HD (DNR'd, natch).

Be nice if we could get an original title card. The one on the FOX DVD is really clunky as it's a new one reading THE HAND OF DEATH AKA COUNTDOWN IN KUNG FU!

It had totally slipped my mind. But, it is for sale on Nova`s site. I just don't know if it is something that I need on blu-ray. I might pick up their release for Battle Creek Brawl or the US Shout Factory release. Oddly enough, they are also re-releasing A Chinese Odyssey as a creative edition. Looks cool. But, I already have a pretty box set so I don't feel the need to re-purchase for that reason. But, I think that my next release from them will be The Last Hero in China. I need to pick that up. Or, their new Ghost in the Shell box set (coming Feb 28th) looks pretty wicked. But, these guys must think that I am made of money.

Oh well, who wants to retire anyways? Just going to give all my money to Nova and die a happy, yet broke, man.

Collector on facebook got his copy, said the packaging looks lovely but he's confirmed it's an upscale
