If there is no difference with my newer model, once you get comfortable with the darbee, you are going to be floored by the difference it makes. Don't readjust your monitor settings with the darbee on.. Keep them as they are. Let the darbee process them with your sets adjustments already finalized. Enjoy. |

I has an older Darbee that broke (paid a lot for it)and had to purchase the newer one (they have no repair service ,bad CS)and it seem to have a different process as it looks much better than my old one.
Lots of post here about Black Bars and I use an easy fix. Reach up, my projector is not way up on the ceiling.its mid level with screen, lower my image to the bottom of the screen and I have a roll down Black mask on the top. Problem solved and looks way better. |

That's hard to say since each set is different. Now I know I've been fooled in the past with too strong a setting creating an illusion of better 3D. So I am on my guard. I also started around 40 and saw subtle differences. Eventually settled at 82, using a callibration test pattern to confirm wasn't pushing it over the limit. Can see small objects that are otherwise masked. One thing. It will not eliminate grain that is part of the subject matter. In fact, it can also bring out the grain more if initially bad. Talked about Top Gun on another post. In that case I had to actually lower the darbee to about 50. |

Great feedback guys. Found a brand new Darbee 5000 on Ebay for $70 + $10 shipping. It should be at my door by end of next week. My projector shipped from Hong Kong so I'm sure the Darbee will get here first [emoji4]

I have no problems keeping the darbee at 82 for 2d except at times for lower resolution sources. Most of the time it's fine for well mastered DVDs but have to lower it for those with excess grain. For example, the 1933 King Kong is noted for retaining a severe amount of grain. Instead of turning off the darbee, I lowered it to 42. That got rid of the annoying grain but still enhanced the detail. For Blu-ray like Tora Tora Tora, the Searchers, etc, where grain was not eliminated, reducing it to 68 or so did the trick, though the picture had a slight less enhancement than before. But the grain not being reduced in the restorations is what causes one to make a choice between full enhancement or slightly reduced and no grain. |

Just picked up one of these for my Epson 2150. Hopefully it will make the picture on Playstation vue look better! My Blu Ray player looks great with the projector so I’m assuming it will make it look that more realistic

It was useful with an Oppo 103, & 4K UHD 3D OLED setup but not with the Oppo 203's resolving performance upgrade. It's all about digitally resolving visual-detail! ![]() Last edited by Paul H; 12-31-2017 at 07:00 PM. |

Anyone experience any audio sync or lag problems using this? This is the first I've heard of it, and as a 3D Enthusiast, it certainly has my attention.
But I currently use an Epson 3020, and have a bit of audio lag, but my blu ray player is maxed out for correcting it, and my amp is too old to offer any sync correction. |

Don't some Oppos have darbee processing built into them? |

No but on occasion get a blank screen for a few seconds, especially with first accessing special features from the menu. Get the audio but no video. Have to try again. Don't know if this is due to my receiver or the combination of using both since it never occurs with the receiver off. |
