Default Laurin (1989) - Bildstörung 01 December 2017

Has anybody picked this up who can report on the quality? I have the old EMS DVD which (while serviceable) leaves much to be desired. Any opinions or reviews of the Blu-ray would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Quality is exceptional. Bildstörung are doing in Germany, what Criterion do in the US. This Blu-ray release is highly recommended.

That wonderful cover art caught my eye on Diabolik, so I decided to go for the blind buy, along with the recent German disc of Roots of Evil (hoping this will be a quality transfer - can anyone recommend it?) and Bildstorung's Singapore Sling. All three will be first-time viewings for me, so am looking forward to three slices of unique international cinema.

Edit: The IMDB keywords for Singapore Sling say it all (and perhaps too much!):

male rape | stabbed in the crotch | vomiting in someone's face | woman urinating in a man's face | rape revenge | See All (71) ť
I'm almost afraid to click on 'See All (71)'!

Singapore Sling is completely demented. Picked up Synapse Films' solid DVD edition about a decade ago upon release.

Laurin is such a gorgeous film, but I've never seen a real quality portrayal of it. Can't wait till this release arrives from Diabolik.

This one will do. It's a director approved 2K scan with color correction and grain kept intact.

ROE comes from Subkultur Entertainment, who did the great "Bloody Friday" Disc, so P/AQ should be top-notch:

In reference to the Bloody Friday disc, not this one (for clarification's sake): The only big downside is the English subs are absolutely riddled with errors and a genuine mess. It ruins an otherwise incredible release and personally why I haven't ordered anything from the label since. I used to be a big fan myself.

Are there any differences between the special and standard editions of the German release of Laurin?

The first edition came with a bonus DVD (roughly 3 hours of interviews, deleted scenes, behind the scenes etc.), 20 page booklet and slipcase. Some of the interviews are in English, the rest is not Englisch friendly.
The rerelease only has one disc, so the only extras are a trailer and audio commentary.

Thanks for your help. I would hope that if Arrow were able to do a release of Laurin, that they would be able to port over the extras from the German first edition and obviously make them English friendly. I'm pretty sure I had not heard of this film before, until reading about it in the Arrow Video/Academy (United States) discussion thread recently.
