I've had the opposite experience. Maybe it varies geographically, but around here all the MCU ones still sell out within 2-3 days. For example, I got 2 copies of the 4K GOTG2 on release day, and they were sold out the next day.

GotG Vol. 2's 4K/3D Steelbook was "sold out" day one, in that whatever allotment the store got in my area were reserved for pickup. But then they magically had copies weeks later. Either the pickup copies never got picked up, the store's stock got replenished, or people returned online orders. I dunno.

The Ant-Man thing was bizarre though. Like six copies, all mint, just chilling on the overstock rack. I remember taking a picture and posting it in that thread.

Ant-Man actually still pops up every now and then, it's strange. I got one from someone on here and actually haven't even opened it. It was sealed in the package backwards, so the broken SSD design has the wrong side showing. I'm tempted to open it up just to flip it, but was hoping to keep it in the packaging. It actually looks neat backwards.

Speaking of popping up every now and then - last week Doctor Strange went up with a couple copies. I managed to get one before they disappeared, and it just came yesterday! Haven't opened the box yet, hope it wasn't a damaged return or something.

GOTG, GOTGV2, Civil War, and Doctor Strange. The 3D discs have alternating IMAX aspect ratios.

Well I posted this, then went and opened the box. What do you know, it's a damaged return. Now I have to go through the return/exchange process. Ugh.

VUDU Streaming version... Steel Books get dents... Dolby Vision is superior to HDR-10 anyways they took measurements of Pan on an LG OLED... It's true... It's damn true!

I'd rather have this steelbook with 10 dents in it than settle for a streaming version.

Not everyone get same streaming speed, where someone may have to wait for the content to download to be able to watch without any disturbance. It’s different streaming speed in different areas. So it’s not reliable for everyone. I will always take physical media over streaming.

As far as I know they do... There is something mentioned on the site that shipments outside of the EU are liable for tax etc - so I assume they ship worldwide. They definitely ship outside of France, as I order from them regularly. Last time they did send my order (it was their Wonder Woman 4K+3D+2D+Soundtrack-Steelbook) with UPS Express or something and it arrived well packaged the next day (and a few days before the official release date).

So the Jim Lee artwork version has been removed from
Best Buy’s site as of this writing.
