Default Question about the Vizio 32" VW32

I found a sale going on for a Vizio 32" LCD model # VW32LHDTV40A I can get it for $398. Does anyone have this TV? How does it perform? I read a review on CNET and they said the blacks/shadows aren't that great and some scenes are way too bright even with backlighting turned off/all the way down. Just looking for other peoples opinions on this TV, I am a college student and am on a budget. I talked my mom into letting me put it on her credit card and paying it off since my credit is poor and I dont have the money to shell out $400 right away. Thank you for the help/suggestions! This TV also has picture in picture which is appealing to me. And you can use the main screen for PC/laptop use and then have the picture in picture for a TV show which I found appealling.

if i were you i'd look into getting a good used tv from your local classified ads. i'm sure whatever school you go to has a decent website for that. or there's always craig's list. maybe you can find a better and cheaper tv.

I've owned Vizio and never had problems with my TV, unlike some of the horror stories you hear about it. Sure, black levels are poor, but for all intensive purposes, if it's the best you can do at the moment, go for it.

when you sya horrible what are we tlaking about? is this like a "trained eye vs untrained eye" type scenario where the noticibility of the "horrible" black levels will vary from person to person. im not too knowledgable on the HDTV market etc i only know what i see and if its a good picture than ill be happy. ill have to check this out in person to get a good feel for this TV i only heard about the sale online and they r sold out online anyway so ill go to store tomrorow probably and take a look at it.

You'll be fine, Wayne. Get it, quick, while your mother feels generous!

I've heard there was a 32" Sharp LCD floating around for $400....If anyone can verify that deal, and where it is at... That would be a better option for the price, imo

there was a Sharp 32" on sale at walmart for $398 but that was a pre xmas sale. the price is back up to like $500. we got that for my dad its pretty nice tv. it seems like walmart is havign sales on TVs now at the $398 price point so idk if i should wait to see what else they are going to get or just get this and then bring it back if something better coems out for same price. from the reviews online and youtube vids this this tv isnt that bad.
