Default JBL ES250PCH SUB opinions

Hi all,
i am in the process of building my HT sound system (most probably a 6 month process),
i am planning to get Polk TSI series speakers (TSi500,CS20,TSI100) and a sub to form a 7.1 surround.the AVR will most probably be the Yamaha 663.
i was planning to get a polk sub as well ,the DSW PRO 600, then i found the JBL ES250PCH with a 25% lower price than polk.
i don't live in the states so i am limited to the models and brands that are available here.
i am looking for a medium power sub with 12cm driver, my HT room (which is also my living room) is 14X12 my tv is 52A650 and my player is a HTPC.
can u please advise on the JBL sub quality? is it a good sub?
thanks in advance.

Default you are not limited as there is worldwide shipping

I would highly recommend getting the Outlaw Audio subs http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/lfmEX.html and get two if you can afford them. They make and sell directly and are an incredible sub at a fraction of a price compared to comprable sounding subs.

I'm sure that Outlaw is fantastic, but it's out of the price range of the other subs the OP is mentioning.

I would recommend to look elsewhere than Polk for your sub. There was another post in the subwoofer forum about JBL's though, so you may want to contact the folks that own one.

Have you looked at SVS or HSU? I think they can ship overseas... for a price.

I posted in your other thread...I love my ES250PCH...couldn't be happier with it? I've found a few things that rattle in the room thanks to that little gem LOL

The Polk and JBL sell in the same range $500-$700; the Outlaw makes two versions of the 12" for $599 and $699. I the Outlaw in the same price category. They do have a 10" for $399

Yeah I see now he was looking at higher end Polk ones. Most of the time I see a Polk sub mentioned it's the $300 and under range.

mine i have now...

Tends to bottom out on loud bass in movies...Like Pirate of the Caribbean with cannons exploding everything.....boommmblaah!...Sucks!!!..

play a song with good bass in it....Heated up and got warm where the metal panel where the volume knob is...even more crapy!.

smelled the voice coil burning or it was break-in...not sure..

i thought it would hit good without bottoming out since it was rated at 300 watts,500 watts max..Nope.....damn 10'' driver!
