Default Need some help

I'm 100% you guys know a lot more than me on this stuff, so could any of you please help me decide which of these two HDTVs is better:

http://www.samsung.com/Products/TV/L...S4052DXXAA.asp

or

http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTE...-40inch_bravia

I woudn't like to spend too much money, but if it is necessary to obtain the best picture quality, then I'd give in (Don't know how, but I'll find the way!). I know the best HD picture you can get is 1080p, and the Sony one has it, but I'm not sure if the Samsung one does.

Anyways, which do you think is best?

IMO Sony will almost always beat Samsung rather easily for quality.

The Samsung is a 1366x768 panel, similar to many 50" plasmas according to this site:
http://www.bestbuyplasma.com/Plasma/...D_Z_tab_Y_tab2

The Sony on the other hand is a true 1080p display with full capability of accepting a 1080p input. This is a big plus for many people, but at the 40" size may not matter that much. But, Sony generally will produce a much finer product overall. Better processing, better color, better build quality, etc.

I would go with it in a second over the Samsung if my budget allowed for it.

I'd easily save up for this or better yet, one of the SXRD LCOS sets.

The bravia xbr sets are very nice and have great color. Depending on what your looking for I'd also consider pioneer as they have wonderful color this may be more than your looking to spend but imo Pioneer has some of the best video quality out there.

So the Sony one has better picture quality...that's what I wanted to know. Thank you all, I'll better start saving.
