Someone says its something to do with the "resolution not matching" but how do I fix it? I'm not technical at all.
When I watch some movies via a USB on my blu-ray player sometimes the picture is pixelated. |

These are movie files from your computer I'm guessing? If it's the issue I'm thinking, the movie file might be a smaller resolution or low file size, which means it has artifacts when shown on your screen.
Example, I have a movie file 540x360 pixels. This is standard definition which will look okay on a phone or laptop when viewed at original size. When viewed full screen, it will look blocky because the player is stretching such a small file to fill either 1280x720p screen or 1920x1080p screen (or even 3840 x 2160 if you have a 4k tv). I have another file, 1920x1040 pixels. This file is high definition, and will look great no matter what you play it on. Phone, laptop, TV. When the player stretches the video to full screen, there are lots of pixels to work with so it doesn't have to stretch the tiny pixels to fill the space. If the movies you are watching have small files, there really isn't a way to fix it via your player. You have to re-encode the movies. If my hunch is wrong, then ignore everything I just said. ![]() |

The only other thing is that your player can't keep up with the file (if it's especially large) and it chokes on the thing. If the size is too small and too compressed, the best thing to do is see if there's a Blu-ray or decent DVD available. |
