Default Waco (Paramount Network miniseries)

Quote:
WACO is a brand new 6-part series from Paramount Network based on the true story that shocked the world of religious leader David Koresh’s Branch Davidian compound in Waco, Texas in 1993. WACO features a star studded cast that includes Michael Shannon, Melissa Benoist, Taylor Kitsch, John Leguizamo.
First episode was on last Wednesday... I enjoyed it. Looking forward to the rest.

I thought it was pretty good too, apart from some very dodgy wigs...

I liked the first episode, even though it surprisingly focused a lot on the final days of Ruby Ridge. Taylor Kitsch was really good. I remember when this incident happened in the '90s but don't really know a lot behind the actual events.

Excellent first episode. I like that it is based on TWO books: one from WCAO survivors and one from the FBI. Can’t wait for the next episode

I was kinda bored earlier in the day and decided to check this out to kill some time. I gotta say, I thought this pretty damn great. I'm hooked. I was too young when this happened, so my only knowledge is of specials I've seen on tv over the years.

This series is right up there with the Assassination of Giannini Versaci. I almost feel for Koresh with the way he is portrayed. I do love how in the first episode they really did show you just how bad the ATF was at resolving shit.

Ep 2 was good too. Kind of wish I had the power to hold of and blast all six in one sitting but I am weak.

The series has been far more sympathetic to the Branch Davidians than I was expecting. It's been a good series so far with compelling characters.

Second episode was really good. A couple moments involving John Leguizamo had some nice tension because I didn't know how things were going to go. I'm surprised the raid is already going down starting with the next episode. But I get the impression it was because the feds were so desperate to make up for how Ruby Ridge played out that they rushed into another situation too quickly.

It's unlikely a drama aimed at adults gets released on Blu-ray. I wouldn't count on seeing this make it beyond DVD.

I didn't realize that song was a reference to something but I thought it was amusing how Koresh decided to use the short time they had the generator running to play loud music back at the FBI.

Why? The ATF was just trying to make a show of it! They could have picked him up on any street corner they wanted to at any time. Going in broad daylight in cattle cars was the dumbest showoff move in history! Especially after Ruby Ridge! Oh well sadly people paid dearly two years later because of this ATF crap in OKC.

That's what I thought when I first started watching this show, all I ever remembered of this event as a teenager was the compound going up in smoke on the news. I then decided to read up about the events and watched a few documentaries and was blown away by how it was really handled by the FBI & ATF.

Ok guys, I'm not american and I don't know the whole story in-depth... so I'd like to ask how much of this is accurate?
It's truly unsane.
