The Monkey King 3: The Land of Beauty (2018) Blu-ray 3D [Region A Locked]

Well, there's a another movie in The Monkey King series, called The Monkey King 3: The Land of Beauty coming out in theaters on February 16, 2018 in Hong Kong, China, the U.K. and the U.S.

Like the previous 2 films in The Monkey King series, the 3rd film is shot natively in 3d with 3d cameras. Sean Kelly is the film's lead stereographer.

Like the second film, Well Go USA Entertainment is handling the distribution for this film, so chances of a 3d version to be in theaters is very unlikely, which is a shame cause this is a film that's intended to seen in 3d. A blu ray 3d release in the U.S. is also very unlikely.

The blu ray 3d home video release in Hong Kong is handled by Panorama. Today DDDHouse has put up their preorder for the 3d version and will be released on May 18, 2018. Link for Preorder: http://www.dddhouse.com/v3/product_d...roductID=16581

It has the 3d and 2d versions on one disc, and will also include a Dolby Atmos (Dolby TrueHD 7.1 compatible) audio track, English subtitles will be included.

Hey, thanks for the heads up on MK3. Have the first two, did not know but should have figured there would be a third. Hope it's as good as the first two!

Just like the others, am sure they will have English subtitles and since Hong Kong, China, etc are also Region A, there should be no trouble finding a copy through eBay, yes Asia and other sources.

Not all Asian countries are region A, China is region C.

The Monkey King series, how is the filmed 3D? Medium to strong 3D layers roughly? Or mild 3D? I was going to order these awhile back but got sidetracked. If I hear they have impressive 3D, I'll check them out.

Do these films have a lot of action in them hopefully? This new one looks interesting, though this may just be a teaser trailer, since it hardly showed any action yet. I like the visual style of the film though.

They are fantasy films with action and the first two had very good 3D. Hard to find reviews of the 3D discs on line since it was not released in North America.

Yes, both Monkey King films have excellent 3D and plenty of fantasy action. The huge skeleton in the second one is quite something, with effects to rival Hollywood - shame that it can only be gotten in Region A given that the first one got an Australian 3D release.

These are films that are a perfect fit for 3D - there's a lot of flying around in the first one, with characters frequently out of the screen, while the second plays out like an alternate Journey To The West The Demons Strike Back. I'm really glad the third one is getting a 3D blu ray release.

Thanks so much for the update pal. Loved the first two and happy to find the third is just about ready for release. DDD had the best price than those on eBay and yes Asia doesn't have the 3D version available at all. They also had a special price on The Flying Machine so took advantage of that and reduced combined shipping.

Joe, there's a legit place on Canal that may have copies. It's been a couple of of years since I've been there, but it was up near the bus terminals for the cheap busses to Boston. I know there's a ton of boot material on Canal, but there's one shop that sells legit imports like YesAsia etc... The next time you're in the area you might want to take a look

How are these movies as far as story goes? Probably hard to find them to rent or stream so it’d be a somewhat risky blind buy. Just curious.
