Very few Arrow releases actually make street date. If it's not one thing it's another. Severin is right behind.

Ah gotcha. I don't have many Arrow titles in my collection, and have only bought maybe two on release date, so I guess thats gone unnoticed by me. Hoping this does indeed come out on 2/27, really looking forward to it.

So arrow is doing this one in 1.85:1 vs full frame? Very excited to check this one out but I do feel like 1.33:1 fits the movie better. Anyone know the details of how this movie is meant to be seen?

Whoa. I just realized the new release was listed as being in(matted) widescreen. I recall Henenlotter preferring the un-matted version since he wasn't aware of aspect ratio/matting at the time. That's why all past releases including the previous blu-ray he released were 1.33.

I have a feeling this will be too tight in the framing department(unless past releases were zoomed in?) and don't understand why they didn't opt to include both aspect ratios like Anchorbay did with The Evil Dead?

Why do you think it’ll be 1.85:1 in Arrow’s bd? I haven’t seen anything stating that.

Well it’s listed as the original aspect ratio on the arrow and the image release pages here so I was curious. Probably just a mistake but I see a user just confirmed that the new scan is in 1.33:1 so all good it’s gonna look AMAZING now I really can’t wait to see it. That 1.85:1 was bothering me a bit not gonna lie lol

Despite the packaging, this disk won’t play in my player set to Region B. Aspect ratio looks 1.33:1, though.

No email yet from Diabolik that it's been sent. And they send 2 weeks early 100% of the time on preorders.

There may have been a delay.

Diabolik's been weird lately. I got this, Cat o' Nine Tails and Severin's Eaten Alive LE pre-ordered, yet no movement on any of them.

BIG EDIT: I take that back! The status for my Basket Case pre-order has been changed to "Basket Case Single Order", so they must've got them in.

Does Diabolik have a tendency to ship early?

I have the two Argentos' pre-ordered through Amazon, but I am wondering if I should order them from Diabolik also as Amazon packages pretty poorly and don't want to get stuck with a damaged box or nothing.

They ship as soon as they receive items, but if your order has another item that isn't ready yet, they'll wait to ship the entire order.

I did order it, I do like the movie, and I like Arrows usual quality, but still think that slip is quite ugly.

I'm over here trying to decide if the pin from Diabolik is worth the extra $$$. I'm leaning towards "yes".

Knowing it's a slipcase and not a hardbox, I'm honestly thinking about just trashing it when my order comes in.

I don't know if I'll throw it out (collector ocd tendencies), but yeah, maybe just stash it somewhere else. The art just looks so cheap. Weird Photoshop/clipart/something.
