Default Blu-ray Exclusives

I would like to announce that Blu-ray has another collossal film as an exclusive. The Simpsons movie generated $29.4 million of Friday alone. The biggest non-sequal on opening day this year. Score another blockbuster for blu-ray only, and hopefully coming out soonner rather then later.

I am highlighting the fact that the movie was Gigantic. People were estimating 46-54 for the weekend. And it will be 70-80 million.

I think the holidays are gonna be pretty rough for HD DVD. Most of the blockbusters this summer will be exclusive to Blu, and if they're not exclusive, most will be on Blu and HD. Pirates will be huge . . . it'll go together real well with the kids' new PS3. So will the Spiderman trilogy and the better-than-HD DVD Transformers, Cars, Ratatouille . . . the list goes on. And then there's the highly probable Die Hard set for the adults. Rough seas ahead.

Hopfully sooner rather than later... Just think of how many titles we could have out right now if they had been in the game from the beginning... I know they were waiting for bd+ and all.

If my Mom wasn't here to visit, I would've attended the earliest screening on Friday.

I know it's the 1st Simpsons movie so it's not a sequel, but it's based on one of the longest running TV programs in history. When was the last time something truly original came out and made big bucks? Not to knock the Simpsons, but the biggest non-sequel opening should be for something where all the characters haven't appeared in 400 TV episodes.

I wonder how many seasons of the TV show can fit on one blu-ray disk (50 GB)?

They've done a brilliant job of marketing The Simpsons Movie. Even just now noticed that play.com the logo for the site has changed so the "o" is the pink doughnut used for the film title... superb,...

You have to be kidding me Transformers was out done by The Simpson. I know Simpsons are huge but I thought it would at least be out done by Trasformers. Hopefully it will do as well on Blu Ray, what a am I talking about, of course it will it's the Simpsons.

I haven't seen the Simpson's Movie yet because I dont really like The Simpson's that much never could really get into it but however I will buy it for Blu-Ray just so that HD-DVD will die quicker.
