Default $250 and below BD player

For $250 and below, which are the best bluray players top to bottom?

What I'm looking for is durability, load time, PQ and SQ. How do you guys weigh one among the others? My bro in law's HD DVD player just broke, and Best Buy gave him store credit replacement. SCORE!

I'm not going to lie, I'd look it up myself but I'm lazy. HOpefully I'll get some help still. lol

Here's a top five from cnet, not a bad list but I would choose the Sony BDP-S350.

I got my parents the Phillips bdp7200 for christmas and so far it's been excellent. It doesn't internally decode the new audio formats but I don't think any will in that price range. The load times are a bit long (compared to ps3) but nothing terrible. I didn't time it or anything but were talking maybe 20 seconds.

Cnet gave it a less than perfect review, but they must've on crack or something because the image quaility was perfect, watched the new Batman and it was amazing.

I got it post black friday for 192 with tax, so there should be some good deals around.

man you guys are awesome. Such a quick response.
I'm taking a look at it right now.

And Sloan, it's not for me, it's for my bro. I'm using the PS3 as my player.
I'll let him decide and let you guys know what the verdict is.

My Sony BDP S350 works amazingly and was only 220 at best buy.
I COULD have gotten it for 170 at future shop but that was a boxing day door-crasher thing that i didn't pick up and i think that was the older 300 player.

Panasonic 35K, Sony 350 or the LG are the 3 suggestions I would make.

If DVD upconversion PQ is important to you, get a BD35.
I have a BD-P1200 with the Reon and the BD35 is pretty close in upconverting DVD PQ.
Panasonic is a step ahead in upconverting DVD PQ than any of the Sony players.

And Toshiba HD players still top them all.

Samsung BD-P1500

However you might want to wait and see if any of the new players announced at CES 2009 are gonna be within your price range...

Apparently Samsung will be announcing 2 new players at the least and I'm very excited about what they'll be showing. Especially given the excellent performance my parents and I have gotten from the 1500!

Well guys, as much as I like the Sony BDP, we got the Panasonic one. He has mostly DVD's so I went with the Panny like suggested for that reason. Plus, he's a fan of Panny's so it all worked out for him.

I'm planning to get one in a few months for the living room soooooo I'll wait for newer better ones. Right now, nothing can replace my PS3. I love it's loading time.

Oh and by the way thanks again. IF I could give you each a million dollars......I'd probably not because that's a lot of money! But I'd treat you all out to Red Lobster.

Only my BD-P1200 beats the BD35 in DVD upconverting PQ.
My BD30 is now equal to the HD-A35 since the last FW upgrade that made improvements to DVD upconverting PQ.
