New Blu-ray.com Site Logo? - Blu-ray Forum

Seems the Bluray.com logo is a bit plain, and while it doesn't actually bother me as there's nothing wrong with simple and it is just a logo, anyone else think it would be cool to update it? Just something I was thinking about today.

Why don't you guys and gals do some photoshop work and see what you can come up with... you never know

I was just thinking of the same like "Hm, the logo seems like just plainly typed.".
And I thought, maybe it would be cool to just put the official logo on there
and then just add ".com" or something like that.

However, I would like to hear from the "officials", is that perhaps some copyright-issue?
Since I understood this website is not affiliated with Blu-ray (unfortunately?).
So, you know, it could cause SOME kind of issue like that.

Anyway, even though I have not much of a "Photoshopping-skill" either,
here is my attempt to or example for a logo:

This one is with a nice "3D"-logo, with the '.com' deliberately in a bit more "digital" style.
Sorry I couldn't find a bigger version, hence the size, but it's just an example.

This one I put a little more work into, but it's almost the same principle.
For this one I used the 'Spider-Man'-font of the films,
which strangely (but appropriately) enough is also used on the PlayStation 3.
Then I added the sort of "Blu-ray-wave",
and adding the shadow reminded me of the current logo, so I left it.

These are also quite plain, but still an improvement I guess.
I'd like to see perhaps a darker background, black preferably or else "blu" of course.
And then I mean with a white or black logo in the foreground perhaps.
Maybe even with some more 3D-looks like I did to the "wave".

I wouldn't even mind if that one would be used.
And I wouldn't even say that if it wasn't good enough.
As I'm a "perfectionist", still that's about as good as I can do in Photoshop...

I've always thought it was very cleverly made in regards to that very issue. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I thought it was extremely intelligent.

In any case, I quite like it.

Thanks, I like it quite a bit myself too, since I usually phail at these things...

It's so simple, but I really like the fresh look.

Ah, good thing about your avatar, I guess it's pretty much final/announced now?
If that's the actual box, I'd be really satisfied with that.

Maybe. I saw some including 'TM' too.
In fact, I think I even left out the 'TM' when creating mine...
That would have been to just clean up the logo in general, but it could be put back.
