Very interesting. I had no idea there was a complete film transfer of zombi 3 out there. I need to get it...Does it have an english soundtrack with no forced subtitles or anything fishy like that? What studio is it? thanks.

The Italian DVD is dubbed in Italian only - no English.

(Still, at least it proves that materials do exist.)

Sorry about bringing back such an old thread, but seriously, any news on this or Zombie 5 Killing birds hitting blu-ray? I legitimately like Zombie 4 but I'd buy 5 as well even though it's terrible.

I'd buy a BD upgrade of Killing Birds but After Death was a pile of excrement. Maybe Bananaman will put this out since he's already release a bunch of other Shriek Show titles. If he does I hope he doesn't call it Zombie 5. That was stupid.

Don't think so. They announced they'd be releasing a Bruno Mattei movie, Shocking Dark if I recall correctly and mentioned Zombie 4 as well.

Will this be the longer version that was released in Japan and Germany (88 minutes PAL versus 84 minutes NTSC on the Shriek Show DVD)?

The movie is absolutely terrible and incompetent in every way, though Fragasso would deny it
it's moving pretty fast, though, so i guess it's the only redeemable thing i can see.

it better have a Jeff Stryker interview if Severin wants my money. I'd be really curious to hear him about this career choice and the shooting.

Must be they are not selling that well, I saw them post a few days ago you could get the slips signed but it was $15 for just a signed slip.

I can't find any info on the OST. What I will tell you is that a lot of these Italian OST's don't have track titles, they will just be listed as Sequence 1 for track one , Sequence 2 for track 2 and so on. The main theme is called Living After Death, so I would assume the track list is something along the lines of

1. Living After Death
2. Sequence 1
3. Sequence 2
.......so and so forth.

If you need Zombi 3 track list I can help you out on that as I own a version of it but it's probably different than what Severin put on disc as mine has all of the score on one side and all of the radio DJ stuff on the other.

Thanks! I had the standalone disc for Zombi 3 and it is the same track list. I always wondered why they were named “sequence X” instead of being titled. I haven’t seen that for any other Italian soundtracks but it makes sense. I’ll just change the titles of the songs with lyrics and leave the rest as just “track X.”

I just made up titles for a lot of them. Feel free to take some of these or come up with your own!

I received the Severin BD and just watched the film for the first time. Liked it! 3.5 Peter Barks or whatever units one uses to grade this sort of movie. I liked this one about as well as Zombi 3. Zombi 3 had a few more stand-out images and setpieces, but I liked the "plot" of Zombie 4 a little more. In fact, I thought that the first half was really terrific, with a fast pace and lots going on. Bogged down a little after that, with a lot of repetition during the siege (but then again, repetition in these movies can enhance the nightmare quality... I'll probably like it more on subsequent viewings). In general, I was very pleased that Zombie 4 managed to capture that elusive and kooky "80s Italian Horror Feel" despite not being made by a "big name" like Fulci or Mattei and despite appearing late in the cycle.

Lots of influences and familiar elements on display... Rats: Night of Terror (ragtag team of armed wandering jerks), Zombi 1 & 3 (island setting), House (zombie yelling at people while carrying a machine gun), and especially Demons (everything from the lighting to the score to the makeup to the story, which is a little like the film-within-a-film sequence of Demons 2). In fact, some of these things were so reminiscent of Demons that I was wondering if this was actually one of those phoney retitled Demons sequels from the late 80s, like maybe Black Demons (which I have not seen). I also think that with a bit of retooling Zombi 4 would actually have made a very nice Demons sequel. Demons on a nasty hot tropical island?! I can dream!

I thought that the transfer was okay. It didn't look too manipulated, and the colors and contrast looked okay, but there may have been an everpresent sheen of encode artifacts.
