It ties Pirates! Band of Misfits as the lowest. Most of the others have gotten a B+.

Now BP is looking to make $212M over 4 days.

Quote:
By the time the four-day President’s Day holiday stretch ends, Black Panther will have surpassed many of Marvel and DC’s mightiest on the all-time domestic B.O. openers chart. Black Panther is now looking at the 6th best opening of all-time on a 3-day basis with an estimated $185.4M per industry projections and a mind-blowing $212.1M over four days.

Well, that sucks. I'm gonna see it this weekend anyway because it's the only new release that I'm interested in.

4..) Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (SONY), 2,800 theaters (-336) / $1.87M Fri /3-day: $8.1M (-19%)/4-day: $10.6M /Total:$380.3M/ Wk 9

Guardians 2 has $389.8M domestic. Can Jumanji pass it? Or will it's early digital release (2 weeks from now) and blu release (4 weeks from now) stop it?

Depending how today goes we could now be looking at $200M for Black Panther over 3 days
Deadline has it pegged at $194M right now, good enough for #2 Marvel opening. If it could reach the original Avengers that would be insane.

Also, $900M for Jumanji...literally NO ONE could have predicted it would get so huge.

Greatest Showman has yet to dip more than 20% in a week to week drop. It's multiplier is approaching 20x.

It's getting there, the big question for me is if it can pass the $403.7 million of Spider-Man 1 to become Sony's biggest movie of all time. I'm not as sure about the digital release, but yes the physical release will cut into box office, almost wish Sony delayed that like Fox did with Greatest Showman as it is great to see the amazing holds these films have had.

Also, with this opening, reviews, and A+ cinemascore, I think Black Panther could be #1 of the year domestically. One can never rule out the Star Wars franchise, but probably Infinity War and Fallen Kingdom are it's biggest competition. Yet I'm not sure either gets to $600 million since Age of Ultron fell way short of that, and franchise fatigue with another Jurassic Park movie after Jurassic World benefited from the long lay off and feeling more like an event.

My god

If estimates hold up, it would defeat Age of Ultron .

According to Deadline Industry Sources, Disney is actually lowballing it and more likely $195 million for first three days which would mean it comfortably passes Ultron.
