United Kingdom Goonies (UK)

Hi, sorry if I'm not in the good place...

I search someone who have the goonies uk bluray under his hand for confirm me that there is, or not, a french audio canal.

Because, blu-ray.com said yes, but I contact some merchant website in the uk (sendit and thehut) which tell me that there is not !!!

I become crazy
So, if someone can put the bluray in his reader and hear french canal, I'll be fully happy ^^

Thanx

French audio and subtitles are mentioned on the back of the box.

Although i'm in a hurry so I cannot test it right now.

What is a canal?

As I have noted the in the review, there is a French 2.0 audio and optional French subs the distributors have supplied

Just watched the UK BD tonight actually.

It's annoying that the default audio is DD 5.1 and not TrueHD. Picture was grainier than I thought it'd be at some places, but overall, it looked great. ^^

I hate the way all warner titles do this.. why they cant just do what paramount do with their films and default truehd is beyond me.. if a player cant output the truehd track then output the rider dd track

Default Censorship

Can anyone confirm if the UK version still has the lame-ass censorship that the DVD release had, e.g. censoring "I'm gonna kill them" when Mike's brother is trying to steal the girl's bike, and there was also some subtle censorship when they went in the old building where the Fratellis hung out. I've been googling around but can't find any information about cuts or censorship so hopefully that means it's uncut this time, but the last approved cut from the BBFC seems to be in 2004 which suggests to me they've used the same approved cut that they released last time.

The censorship seemed pretty daft, I bought the DVD when it first came out and this was when Warner Bros. accidentally released a censored version with no special features (they were originally gonna release a PG version and they accidentally sent this out I think, then they released a 12). Then I got a replacement disc and it seemed to only have cuts to the audio and not the video (I'm not certain as I don't have the original film memorised in my head), some of the audio had other bits of audio repeated over it to mask out swear words and threats of killing it seems. There's not much mention on the net about censorship so I wonder if this was another mistake and maybe Warner sneaked out another version that was completely uncut? Oh well, maybe I'm just being too picky but it's always disappointing when you watch a film and there are bits cut out of it.

I just checked the DVD and the scene were Brand (Josh Brolin) finds his bike has been deflated has a little girls squeaky horn over "They popped my new tyres, the son of a - -...." then the same thing over the "I'm gonna kill --" it's quite a nice scene as the little girls squeaky horn alerts Brand to her bike.

I can't comment on the other scenes. Sometimes studios make a hash of things eg. Die Hard with a Vengeance but that doesn't seem to bad but it is possible that we've recieved another bastardised TV Version....

Add I still love the Cyndi Lauper track over the scene.... awesome.

I remember being quite annoyed at the time because I heard the US DVD was uncut, and I patiently waited AGES AND AGES for the UK version to be released (expecting that to also be uncut) and held off buying the US version, and when I got the accidental DVD pressing I was so annoyed! I was only a little bit annoyed by the replacement DVD they sent, it had the video commentary and that was the main omission from the first DVD I received. I would've ended up buying the US version as well just for that if they had omitted that from the UK version they had meant to print.

You would think that they would cut the blank space at the top instead
