I was about to order these but I noticed that the company was listed as Warner/Allied Vaughn rather than Warner Archives. Allied Vaughn is the company that does manufactured on demand titles for Warner and other companies. Anyone know if these are factory pressed or BD-Rs?

Pressed like every other Warner Archive title.

If you're referring to the Amazon description, those are rarely correct.

Mine arrived today, and plays just fine in my Oppo 203.

The screenshots over at DVDbeaver give the impression that the Drowning Pool has been DNR'd a bit. Even Tooze mentions the slight waxy look of it, though he doesn't attribute it to digital manipulation. Warner, especially WAC, isn't really known for doing this, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. It was just the first thing that stood out to me about the PQ. Harper looks better to me in this regard.

Just played Harper in my decks--no playback issues here.

And what a brilliant film--so glad they released this!

Picture quality on The Drowning Pool is very clear, with some strong colours. Like it for the Louisiana locations and Newman's performance.

Don't think anyone would call it a great film. There's enough to enjoy in it though. The Blu-ray I have gives a very clear picture.
