So, this is weird (and has happened in the past, I think, so I have faith it will rectify itself), but many of my Disney movies in iTunes have reverted to SD. Some backstory: The movies that reverted to SD were old SD XML redemptions. However, those SD movies were eventually purchased years later on Vudu in HD. When Movies Anywhere came about, the iTunes versions of those movies promptly upgraded to HD. Then, just days ago, I noticed they were no longer HD on iTunes (they remained HD elsewhere). UGH! I like Movies Anywhere, but the growing pains are really annoying!

Do you have a list of titles? I found Brave and Cars 3 along with one of the two copies of Thor and Iron Man 2 that show up in my iTunes library. Funny that is still lists iTunes Extras as available, as those are always tied to the HD version.

Is the easiest way to tell using an iPhone by going into the iTunes store and look at purchased? If I do that, I don't see the HD icon on Aladdin and The Little Mermaid. Others had the icon. I only checked a few since I wasn't sure if that was the right way or not.

I have the same problem. Four of my titles have downgraded to SD in iTunes: A Bug's Life, G-Force, Mars Needs Moms, and Prince of Persia. All of the movies show HDX in Vudu. I contacted Movies Anywhere and they verified that I owned HD rights to these titles and they told me to call Apple support.
I called iTunes support. I have been transferred five times and I am currently on hold again. While I have been dealing with their tech support, I have seen Disney movies disappear and then reappear on my Apple TV, iPhone, and iTunes on my computer. They are having problems, and it seems no one there knows who to hook me up with for help. Maybe someone else may have better luck finding out what is going on. Addendum: I am still trying to get an answer at Apple. I am on hold with my fifth tech support person. Weird that my ownership status continues to change for these movies on my different devices while I have been waiting for an anser. My iPhone and iPad prompt me to buy each of these movies. My Apple TV indicates that I own them in SD. iTunes on my PC says I own them and need to buy them at the same time on the store page. Last edited by alatheous; 03-01-2018 at 05:11 PM. |

I just got off the phone with tech support at Apple. No answers yet to what is going on. The sixth tech guy I dealt with was finally familiar with DMA and MA. While on the phone with him, one of my Aladdin sequels disappeared from the store and my library. He noted that it was showing for him either. He said he would be calling me back in a couple of hours after consulting with other people at Apple.

Since yesterday, several more of my Disney titles have reverted to SD in iTunes. All of the titles that have reverted thus far were the old xml/disc based redemptions. However, I have checked and many of my xml redemptions are still HD at iTunes. No rhyme or reason as to which ones get downgraded. As they are downgraded I am given the option to buy them on the iTunes store on my PC. MA insists that I have HD rights on their end, and all of my titles from Disney are HDX still in VUDU.
Like I was told yesterday by Apple, they are aware of it. I would suggest anyone who is missing HD copies call Apple support and report it. |

I just realized, the day I posted this thread was the day the old Disney Movies Anywhere officially shut down. I wonder if that is somehow related.

This is a known problem being discussed in the iTunes 4K and Movies Anywhere threads.
Many of us are having some 4K titles reverting to HD, HD titles reverting to SD, etc. Not just Disney films. It appears to be related to iTunes and Movies Anywhere. If we own a title in our MA collection that we've owned at a lower resolution in the past, those titles are going back and forth between the differing resolutions. |

MA says they are working on it. iTunes keeps telling me that the resolution can't change on movies I've downloaded. Ugh... ![]() |

![]() Mine were flipping back and forth as well, even over the course of a 5 minute period! Your only solution is to buy/redeem a real HD code in iTunes to overwrite your original SD redemption. |

https://help.moviesanywhere.com/hc/e...definition-SD- Wish they could explain then why it doesn't happen for every title or for everyone. I kind of imagine MA being run from a small computer room with a bunch of monkeys pressing buttons. ![]() |
