Australia A Bronx Tale

In one week Universal Studios will be releasing this classic, hope they don't mess it up and frankly, there should be a 4k disc with it but i guess they want to release it later to cash in!

A really good film, and I do hope it will be region-free. I watched it years ago on a DVD but it was released in 4:3 pan-and-scan.

This classic will be released in 2 days in Australia and in a week in the US, hope both or one of them are in perfect condition without DNR and so forth!

If it's no good there's a cheap, region free UK release that's just fine.

Yikes, I got a notification from this site this morning. One I probably requested years ago. I've been waiting forever for this one. I have only seen it at Walmart and Amazon, but I sure hope they lower the price soon. I know it will drop, but I don't know if I can wait.

I remember this being announced, but I was under the impression that it wasn't a US release, and now it is. $27? I mean it isn't Twilight Time or Criterion, so I don't get the price point. Would I pay it? Yes, if it doesn't come down by summer, because I have been waiting on this release for years! Anyone know what kind of special features are included?

I've had the UK edition for a while. Looks like it went OOP or something, holy cow.

I'd be curious to know if the new US release improves on the quality any. The British one seemed to be swimming in DNR.

I did give the movie a rewatch a year or so ago. It held up better than I expected.

Yeah, but looking at it this morning it was running for £79.99 new. Other cheaper alternatives on Amazon look like other imports--but then, I suppose you could always snag one of those off the marketplace for less than a tener.

Thanks FlixLov3r for the heads-up by the way - I should have put this in my original post above.

I gather the earlier Studio Canal release had a pretty poor picture quality. I've never seen it for myself, but I did read some quite negative comments about it. And yes you're right, they're asking silly money for a new copy on Amazon UK.

The import version I think you mean is the Spanish release. Beware of that one, as Spanish versions are usually on a burnt blu-ray rather than a pressed one, even though the price is more appealing.

This may end up one of those titles Universal releases themselves then someone like Scream Factory comes out with a loaded SE, like Halloween II and III. Wishful thinking.

Yeah, the Studio Canal one looked very soft. Watchable, but not pretty. Can't comment on the sound quality, as I didn't view the movie on a good sound system back then.

Didn't know about the issue with Spanish discs--good to know.
