This is a definite purchase for me.

I found this interesting:

Quote:
Includes 4K SDR And 4K HDR For The Full UHD Experience
Looks like a good opportunity to isolate and compare the SDR vs HDR (both in 4K) on this particular title. First time that the 4K SDR version has been packaged with the HDR version, as far as I'm aware.

Actually shout has already done this with some 4k documentaries. Journey to Space, and a couple others. The HDR versions was immediately superior on comparison.

Good to know.

I'm looking forward to this release, and now that you mention it, I might pick up Journey to Space as well.

That's neat about the HDR and SDR versions. I've often wanted that for a lot of releases.

am curious to see what the 'extras' will be - Shout! doesn't do well in that respect.

on the plus side, since Shout! has done this in the past - the audio will be Dolby Atmos (fingers crossed).

This is a very good documentary if you want to inspire children to become engineers. The project was started by one of the previous leaders of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Would have been nice to compare 2k hdr vs 4K hdr. Not sure there's any way to do that though...

These are only 40 minute shorts, so it's easy putting both on one disc.

No, because they're normally filmed at 24 fps. It creates a cinematic look. 30 fps and above gives you a video aesthetic.

Anyone seen this in 3D? Or has anyone seen this in any version?

I saw this in IMAX-laser 3D - great cinematography (some scenes on top of bridges give a sense of vertigo on a really big screen) and use of 3D. It's such an odd subject matter for a documentary IMAX film, but it surprisingly works; but when you're MacGillivray Freeman Films the trend to branch out and see what is ripe to film in IMAX is and has become quite unique (their latest is 'America's Musical Journey' - animals, outer space, and airplanes has become rather rote and overdone if you ask me)

That would have been great if he narrated this as The Dude.

Do you guys know this is on Netflix (as of July 1)?
While it has some good visuals, I wouldn't consider it a 4k extravaganza.
I'm an engineer, so I appreciate the subject/effort...I just don't consider it reference material.

But... but... Jeff Bridges... in Atmos!

Dude...I almost blacked out from all this excitement!
